  • Top notch man. For me playing outlaws music just makes my day. Its so happy or energetic and thomasson's leads are flat out inspiring. If you want to hear soaring guitars ppl check out the outlaws. They'll leave you smiling all day.

  • Love how you throw down at 0:42....

  • COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Smoking son, just smoking.

  • DO the Green Grass and High Tides Solos Cover ;D

  • THAT WAS JUST AMAZING JUST A GREAT JOB

  • Awesome job. I've been playing Outlaws music in bands since 1976. Would love to jam sometime. Mike C. New Hampshire

  • Me too ! move to texas!

    Long time Billy Jones follower.

  • Dude, killer job, a great tribute to one of my all-time favorite players.

  • Amazing! i love this solo

  • Wow. That was amazing. No really, you nailed both of those solos. I'm sure we'd all love to see you do (or at least attempt part of) Green Grass and High Tides.

  • WOW!! That was great. This was not an embarresment to Hughie Thommason. Keep rockin. -Mike

  • the outlaws are great :) awesome tune

  • An 8, are you kidding? He plays that note for note!

  • Are you going to make a dvd of this?? I have bought some from you.

  • The last solo (from the late Hughie Thomasson) is very complex... The first part of this solo (the first four G-F-C chord progressions) is where you have to stay between the first three frets only. You are getting close.

This picking style is what made him such a great guitarist, w/ such a unique style. The remainder of this solo is more standard; thus, you get to it more.

  • Yeah I know he does stay on the first 3 frets...he actually bends that A up to the B... I prefer to slide it (up to fret 4). It's just very hard to keep that bent up in key while picking that E and B string. It is amazing how he does that.

  • Again, I am very impressed w/ your ability to pull off both Billy's & Hughie's solo's...great job!

I definitely want you to tackle "Song For You" (2nd song - after TGALS - on the first studio album). Do you know it? It would be great to see how these are broken down.

  • Just sell your soul and your good to go..

  • For the solo what scales are being played?

  • great song

  • What the time of this band? 60.? Great playing and nice song.

  • Really liked that, great playing!

  • What key is this in?

  • Chorus is in C major... no sharps or flats... the bridge deviates to a D chord - so, if you put the D in context with the C and G, technically that part is key of G - the one F#

  • What? This isn't Rock Band? :)

  • Lmfao!

  • In all my years, I have never seen anyone be

able to pull off this solo - or his style at all - making him truly unique.

Thank you for doing a fine job; truly. You are a gem.

  • thats cool and my dad really likes this too!

  • this is acctually why i became a youtube mem, i had to comment on ur awsome playing. another gr8 preformance, i dont even like the song and i like it. my hats off 2 u.
