iif i was to pratice this for 2 minutes a day does anyone have any idea how long it will take to get close to this speed? how long has it taken other people? i can only do a RR LL per beat at 90bpm comfortably so i have a looong way to go. any help?
This is actually the most informative video I've seen on this topic. I agree with what you say, being relaxed helps alot learning this technique. I found I had to learn to relax and let my wrists do the work.
I find though my left hand is alot weaker than my right, and I can't perform the technique properly. Any tips for developing the left hand?
@alkunamy2k I'm only a beginner drummer, but I can tell you what has been working for me so far...
Get the book "Stick Control for the Snare Drummer". It's the best drumming book in existence, and the exercises in it will help even the hands. Also, always practice at the slower hand's pace. My drum instructor constantly chews me out for not doing that. It's the difference between the slower hand learning things correctly or only learning to "mimic" correctness.
Haha, i love how i have to wait until half way through the video to actually learn how to do double strokes. This guy wont shut up o.O and repeating everythinnnngggg
