Awesome post! Now I can't wait to see them tomorrow at a Veterans benefit show in the "D." R&R Hall of Fame would be nice—soon—especially since there are only 2 originals left to appreciate the award.
I remember watching this when it originally aired back in 75 (oops dating muself), fell in luv with the Spinners, I'm just glad someone posting it. Spinners were known throughout their career as putting on "awesome" shows. If you're young and want to feel the experience, find the Spinners Live album
Almost like being in church, and so joyful it makes me weep. Nothing like this in the music world today. God bless the Spinners. Thanks so much for this post!
This is one of the most awesome groups of all time. They had class, sould and in addition were tremendous performers. Phillipe singing Mighty Love is a song that I can never get tired of listending to because of it's energy.
How is this group not in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame ? I saw the Spinners live in Newark, New Jersey on the day this show aired, and in between shows they went to NYC did this performance and came back to Newark to bring the "house down".
Back in the Day,they were the GROUP !! Someone please vote them in the Hall of Fame !!!
OFF THE CHAIN, OFF THE CHAIN...this is one of my favorites by the Spinners and this line up especially is the best. Phillipe tore it up and took it to church. The guys had the folks clappng and swaying to the music. I agree, this performance deserves a grammy. Man do I miss the days of true performances and songs that got to you and made you want to get up and dance.
I can't stop watching The Spinners! They prove if you're really, really talented, you can dance and sing at the same time without all of today's techno-mumbo-jumbo.
phillippe wynne took it to !!!!! one the hottest groups of the 70s!! I wish Unsung did more info on Phillipe . From Michgan but grow up in Cincinnati !!! Nati representing !!!
They turned that mother out!!!

Phillipe took it to church, bobby was trying to escort him off stage too. Phillpe should stayed in the group a little bit longer than he should have.

Hey, Bobby Smith had the friendliest voice on the dial in the day. And yes, Philippe was the mighty, mighty clean-up hitter . . .
