@edibrehsa Korax in the story should be stronger than Heresiarch. But it looks like Heresiarch is much more harder in gameplay. :p

This game is probably in my top ten. The idea of the hub format was a unique aspect at the time and it made for some neat puzzles. The music and sound is fantastic, the art design is top notch and the levels are fun, varied, and full of atmosphere. This was classic Raven Software at its finest.

there is three endings one your lost on the second you burn to death and on the 3rd you fight him and win

the boss is easy to kill if you can dodge well. other than the fact you must kill him, it's a priority to stay alive too. get quick wits, a control style your used to, and you're ready to go.

Zdoom.org has a version of zdoom that works on windows 7. you WILL need the Hexen.wad file though, it's not provided (if you have your copy of the game, its on the disc)

This game had some seriously good music AND sound effects. The graphics give you a headache after a while but of course it's an old game. Even so it's still an amazingly atmospheric game, I just started playing it again after many years on Zdoom (Vista). Fighter on the hardest mode. :)

You should try GZDoom... Very easy, just copy the HEXEN.wad to your gzdoom folder and then start gzdoom.exe :D

Im playingf Korax mod and it takes 1 up to 2 HOURS to kill him -.-

The Heresiarch is easy to take down in Korax Mod with the Fighter and Mage, even in skill5.

Fighter - Stay in Berserker Rage with the Quietus (using no mana)

Mage - Use the Red Wand (takes a long time, but you'll get it eventually.)

Cleric - THE hardest class to use against the Heresiarch. You can't even use the flechette trick from vanilla Hexen to take him down because he has too much HP (on skill5). Then he clones himself like crazy and summons Dark Bishops. >:[

No, Korax mod its a mod of hexen like modify the game, add new weapons and add rpg sistem :D

you can up levels and gain health armor attack and mana ^^

on the new weapons on the mage : saphire wand, Ruby Wand and gold wand

Hexen and Hexen 2 are actually Heretic 2 and 3. Heretic 2 is the the same world as Heretic 1 but Heretic, Hexen, and Hexen 2 are part of the Serpent Rider trilogy.

Uh... No they're not. Well, when it comes to the story of the serpent riders, yeah, they kind of are, but in all other cases, they're different.

What I meant is that Hexen is as much Heretic II (before the actual Heretic II) as much as Hexen II is Heretic III (again before Heretic II) came to be.

Hexen and Hexen II are no more linked together than Hexen and Heretic. They probably just used the Hexen II name for name recognition.

There are probably a ton of people out there who have played Hexen and Hexen II that don't realize Heretic is part one of the story. All three are different worlds, of course.

Well Hexen II actually spans multiple worlds, but in any case all I was saying was yeah they take place in different places but they each revolve around taking down one of a triumvirate of bad guys.

The Herisiarch Battle is so Hard u need Skills or u sue ur special items.

But i like the monsters ever in Hexen, how the die or they look.

The Dark Bishops are so cool.

You don't have to fight him out in the open. There are plenty of columns and walls to hide behind.

I'd like to point that the Heresiarch seems to be impossible to kill with the Fighter or Mage on the Nintendo 64 version of Hexen, because the Heresiarch seems to be high on caffeine in that version and constantly casts spells like hell.

The Heresiarch is cake when using the Cleric's Flechettes, since it can hurt the Heresiarch even when it's invulnerable.
