I didn't see Jesus represented here. It was just another activity that could be found at any other school/university. Nothing sets SAU apart from the secular schools. We are called to live to a higher standard. This is the work of the lowest common denominator. Jesus is coming soon. Is this how we would want to be found by the One who loves us to death?

WOW - i thought i clicked on here to watch something about an ADVENTIST UNIVERSITY- it looked like a wanna be Music video to me - MASS DANCING - the song probably had christian words but - from the beat and rhythm who wouldn't be able to tell- Not only is there a compromise of truth in the Church but also of our principles and morals and the way we represent GOD'S remnant- yeah we're really Peculiar - why pay so much for my kids to still get a Worldly Education-
This is despicable that it is happening at an Adventist school. The church has certainly gone into full blown apostasy and here are the youth dancing 'naked' around their golden calf of wordiness.
It was an HONOR being a part of this flash mob! Thanks the choreographer, SAU, and Dr Bietz for supporting us in our celebration for raising the money for such a worthy cause. It was fun and uplifting for all of us. SAU is a family. We can't help but express our happiness for being such a tight unit. Oh Happiness! :)

SAU does have its rules, but all in all it's a wonderful place to learn and grow with God. I think this is incredibly awesome, and I wish I hadn't missed it! I love it! I'm already interested in SAU for my 6 year old daughter! This is NOT what EGW was referring to in her "bedlam of noise" statements I see quoted in somebody's comments. EGW was rerferring to the bedlam of noise of Pentacostal-like services in which people use drums and dancing and to extremes to bring about a desired mindless frenzy of activity, which was part of the Holy Flesh movement in Indiana. I understand your point, or at least i think i do. We are allowed to make judgments as long as they are motivated by love and not ill-will. Check out the subsequent texts: John 7:24, 1 Corinthians 2:15, Luke 7:43. I would highly recommend reading the aforementioned passages in the KJV or NKJV. Also read the entire chapter for context. I noticed at the beginning of the the video that the word "convocation" was used for the time of 11am. This is around the time some services start on the Sabbath. I really hope this display of worldliness was not done on the Sabbath, not that it is excusable for any other day.. The costumes, dancing? @RemixtLatino Convocation is not done on Saturday. Its every Thursday at 11:00 and you get "convo" credits for going. You need a certain amount every semester. And this is just a bunch of people having fun!

I don't see what the statue has anything to do with this video. This video is the reason why we love SAU. It bonds the students with the faculty and staff and we share the love of God with each other. That's what it's all about.

@Revelation14verse7 Don't take the ten commandments out of context...the statue you are referring to on campus is not being worshiped. It is not an idol nor anything other than a wonderful piece of art reminding us of the great Bible story. It is no way different than an illustration in a Bible.

I'm sorry, but I really don't understand what all the fuss is about. This video shows the fun attitude that is in the students of SAU. What exactly is the issue that some of you are taking with this? These are students who are showing their enthusiasm for the life that God has given them.
God tells us to enjoy our lives; to love and dance and feast and work. Living in a cave reading the Bible 24/7 would keep us out of the world, but it isn't what we're told to do. This is just good clean fun.
This school has lost its identity. This school has lost is mission. They have an idol statue in the back behind Florida Hosp Nursing building that looks like a Greek god or trident from little mermaid, which a sculptor was paid to carve, and now this? It is still a work in progress, and will be a beautiful work of art when it is finished. In fact, many Adventist schools have Biblical sculptures on their campus (AU, La Sierra, and PUC come to mind). God bless, and please stop all this nonsense. You have a right to your opinion, but I have to point out that expression of spiritual or religious belief has a lot to do with the culture of the time. What connects someone to God can be different for each individual.

Something fun and cool and out of the ordinary happens at SAU, and gets shared with the world. Of course the devil would come and try to ruin it somehow.
Despite all the negativity he has brought to this thread, especially in the form of a specific few posters, I'm happy. SAU does have its rules, but all in all it's a wonderful place to learn and grow with God. I think this is incredibly awesome, and I wish I hadn't missed it! Those who criticize don't know what we stand for. I'm not worried.

I understand your point, or at least i think i do. We are allowed to make judgments as long as they are motivated by love and not ill-will. Check out the subsequent texts: John 7:24, 1 Corinthians 2:15, Luke 7:43. I would highly recommend reading the aforementioned passages in the KJV or NKJV. Also read the entire chapter for context. I noticed at the beginning of the the video that the word "convocation" was used for the time of 11am. This is around the time some services start on the Sabbath. I really hope this display of worldliness was not done on the Sabbath, not that it is excusable for any other day.. The costumes, dancing? I'm sorry, but I really don't understand what all the fuss is about. This video shows the fun attitude that is in the students of SAU. What exactly is the issue that some of you are taking with this? These are students who are showing their enthusiasm for the life that God has given them.
God tells us to enjoy our lives; to love and dance and feast and work. Living in a cave reading the Bible 24/7 would keep us out of the world, but it isn't what we're told to do. This is just good clean fun.

They have an idol statue in the back behind Florida Hosp Nursing building that looks like a Greek god or trident from little mermaid, which a sculptor was paid to carve, and now this? @2012Cherubim @Revelation14verse7 Actually, friends, the statue is entitled Passing the Mantle, depicting Elijah's ascension to Heaven and the passing of the mantle. It is still a work in progress, and will be a beautiful work of art when it is finished. In fact, many Adventist schools have Biblical sculptures on their campus (AU, La Sierra, and PUC come to mind). God bless, and please stop all this nonsense. SAU is a great school, and this video is evidence of that.

('86-'90) that would be a "no go" . . . glad to see students having fun and being normal in a Christian setting (what a concept). . . .When I was at Southern we had a blast and I still say the best years of my life, however there was a lot of hypocrisy and restrictions that had little to do with being a Christian. Glad to see it!
