i've just come 2 tell u how fabulous i am!!! :D hahan i love pat & rich just havin their lil moment in the begining! they r amazing in both this && RHPS!!! i love them!!! they freaking belong 2gether!!! u can tell tht they got a thing 4 eachother...haha i wish they woulda done the elbow fuck in this moviee ((:
This came to the house via Netflix yesterday and I had forgotten how much I loved it. It's such a great film! Gotta throw the soundtrack onto my laptop...
@mrahiotis - "trade" is slang for casual and/or potentially dangerous sex. It's usually in reference to gay men, so having a woman singing about it (& doing an awesome job of it!) is unusual. But hey, so's the movie!
@mrahiotis In this case I think its a double entendre referring to prostitution (or sex in general) and her wish to change her life from the humdrum existence she is used to for something much more glamorous
@jenjen8423 Susan wanted more money for the role, and Barry was in another project when they asked, otherwise he would've.
In some ways I agree with you, but I like the new Brad and Janet, they act the parts spectacularly, and they give new twists to the roles. Also, Cliff who plays Brad was the original choice for Brad for RHPS, but he had a conflict, so they picked Barry Bostwick, who was their 3rd choice for the role.
I always love the part where they have brad in the straight jacket saying "I've just come to tell you how fabulous I am." And when he does the little hair flip along with it. I crack up every-time
Whilst I think Jessica Harper's voice suits this, the fact that Susan probably would have sung it the octave above would have given it a sort of eerie tone, and it might have been written differently for her. I did love Susan as Janet, particularly in the Floor Show, won't comment much more on this until I've seen the whole thing.
I love this song and Jessica Harper is an outstanding singer.

what the hell does looking for trade even mean?
mrahiotis 1 year ago
It could mean that she's looking for someone to replace Brad, but I think it means sex.
DrHank07 1 year ago
@mrahiotis i've heard it used as a term for prostitution

they shoulda kept Susan Surandon and Barry Bostwick from RHPS..... Or at least have found a brad and janet that look close enough to the originals

This song sends chills down my spine. Jessica Harper's performance is... spotless. I can't imagine Susan Sarandon pulling this one off.
