Opposition parties in Zim continuosly make the same mistake-getting cosy with the old enemy-the UK. Doing so lends voice to understandble suspicion in Zim about British interests. Who would not be suspicious of a govt that will invade a country purely for its oil. Even the British public know this!! Most worring about Tsvangirai is this hand-in-glove relationship he seems to have with the British gov. Far too cosy for me. Tsvangirai should have kept his distance from the overt support he receives from downing street. Zimbabweans dont trust the British Gov since they reneged on their land reform committments.Of even greater concern is the the obligation that will no doubt arise upon Morgan out of this cosy relationship with the UK, to continue to secure and preserve British interests in Zim.

I suspect if he is elected, which has supposedly already happened, and actually gets to office, however unlikely that may seem, the first 4-5 years will be about how it will take time to get things back to normal, hiding what will likely be his own glaring shortcomings. He will doubtless make various claims about how things will have improved under the MDC, not very hard given Zanu-pf economic resume-and go on to boast about how he saved Zimbabwe.

Tsvangirai hardly blows you away with confidence, and I'm yet to see evidence of a convincing strategy for economic transformation. Does he truly understand the economic catastrophe that he will(or hopes to)inherit. He also lacks a track record of true economic achievement-so we dont know if he knows how to handle this kind of problem. Then again, Zimbabweans arent exactly spoilt for choice.

Well up till now i sort of agreed that tsvangurai would move zimbabwe forward. But he doesn't seem to be saying much about how he is going to make agriculture in zimbabwe much better, apart from land allocation. But I'm not sure about how he is going to make land usage better since he seems to think that the failure of agriculture was purely because of misallocation of land, and not farming skills. Surely it would be better to teach the people how to farm efficiently, like the white farmers did.
