  • Ain't gonna sell any till you wire up speakers with a Ferrari note blasting out.

  • TERRIFICANTE il CONTROLLER PWM ad occhio capace di 200A di corrente ! L'aletta mette i brividi !!!! Li dentro passerà lìira di DIO in accelerazione !

  • MOSTRUOSO !!!

  • This video has been online for 4 years and many idiots published stupid comments. No, the world is not english speaking but thanks to panurge75 we now have a good translation.

  • For more resources you may take a look at those interesting videos

    The team manager/constructor: 8CWiW5kvz0I&feature=player_embedded

    The pilot: yoq1_r9PljA&feature=player_embedded

    The race: 6GW-T3RY6t0&feature=player_embedded

but you have to understand Italian ^_^

    LOL

  • whose actors are the Driver Marco Falci, putting on a lot of driving experience and skills, and the Egraf Team who gave him this Top E-Kart.

In this race the E-Kart start from the Pitlane due to the fear of the Race judges it was hampering the 2 Strokes Karts, but before the finish line it surpassed them all !!!!!

  • that has 30 Nominal Kw and 34 Kw Peak without gearbox.

The tyres are Vega-Bianchi and the weight is about 120Kg without driver.

The charging time is about 2 hr with a charger for each pack, Batteries are rated for 1000 Charge/Discharge cycles

The dashboard is equipped with 3 leds as batteries discharging indicators and 2 analogics amperometers, one for the field current of the DC Separately excited motor and the other for the current absorbed by the motor.

    It's an Italian success

  • A full translation for both those who are interested and those who are Idiots.

The Team Egraf Electric kart, the first Kart in the world winning a race in the 125cc class, is made by a TopKart Frame with a serial config of 2 LiPoly battery packs of 40Ah and 48v nominal voltage each, custom made for Egraf by a big Asian manufacturer. The motor is a separately excited brushed type DC motor produced by the italian brand Magneti-Marelli (the same brand produce the F1 Ferrari KERS regen system)

  • W l'ITALIA!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hay loser speak american

  • Ma questo motore Magneti M. dovo lo si reperisce?

  • what's the song in the beginning and in the end?

  • @SoftwareRot The song is Van Halen's "Jump" It's from one of their early albums

  • Ahh, the beauty of the electric motor....instantaneous torque, whereas an internal combustion engine must rev up to make power. If only it had that engine sound. Awesome.

  • thats a freaking gas kart

  • io capisco tutto voi stranieri no... ahahahahahhahah

  • @Kerokaznu Yap... Because nobody else in the world speaks Italian... Dumb Italian!!

Gora toca a capiscar de tuga ó panasca!! Kero ver-t à nora pra topares o k escrevinhei praki!! lol!!!

  • 2 strokes any day.

  • lilbrudder32 first of all, if you're in this country, on an American website, learn fucking English. You don't like these rules, Mr. American? Get the fuck out of our country.

  • @MrBoobtoob1 stop being ignorant man. websites are on the web for the world. Last time I checked this planet is inhabited by many cultures, they speak different languages, english happens to be just one of hundreds. Get off your high-horse and be more humble. People like you are the reason why United States is no longer respected in many parts of the world. Thinking the world needs to bow down to you (and your language). Really?

Just chill, if you need a hug, call me. Peace.

  • im sure the packs they are running are a hell of a lot more than 10c i race onroad brushless rc and we use up to 40c packs 10c would melt down from the amp draw of that cart .and lithium ion or a123 is prob what powers this kart not lithium polymer .

  • 1.take a deep breath

    2. think of someone u like

    3. press F10 5 times

    4. send this to 5 youtube videos

    5. look at ur backround

  • 96volts multiplied by 40 amps results in 3840 watts /hour ...

    so...it is 7680 watts for 30 minutes ... or 15360 watts for 15 minutes... or 30720 watts for 7 /8 minutes...am I wrong ?

drag races apart...talking about the peak is useless I guess... :-)

  • @liadon666 I'm sure they're talking about the amp-hour capacity of the battery - due to the li-po chemistry means he can probably pull 3-10C on discharge (120-400 amps) from the pack. Because of the way DC motors work, they produce very high torque and run at much lower voltages at lower rpm (due to back emf) - he could easily be running 34kW from the motor with 750 amps from the motor controller, which if it's 96v means about 354 amps from the battery. Yes, that's probably peak. Instant peak

  • cavolo!!ottimo!che autonomia ha in regime di gara?

  • Dear Mr. Stonerj0e,

If you must insult us English please be advised that the proper word to use should be ARSE (13th century of Germanic/Celtic origin) ASS is an alternative of donkey. The Americans introduced the term asshole in the 1930s

possibly because they had trouble spelling arse. We have permitted your use of the queens English since 1776 but your abuse of our language is nothing short of asinine (get someone to look it up for you) if not for the English you would talk like wetbacks.

  • fucking ginkers

  • ENGLISH *ASSHOLE*

  • @stonerj0e Welcome to earth. Not everyone speaks your language, nor should they have to... especially for people like you.

  • @lilbrudder32 the same could be said of you sir. it's not that hard to speak more than one language, most people on the planet do.

  • @circusboy90210 what is the same that could be said for me? What's not hard is for people like @stonerj0e to call people assholes because they didn't post this video with english, what is hard is for someone to even make an attempt to learn more than one language. BTW, specifically which one of the languages I speak are you saying that the same thing could be said of me?

  • @lilbrudder32 that you don't or wont speak someone else language.

  • @circusboy90210 go back and read it again. That's not at all what I said.

  • @lilbrudder32 sure does look like it. ;) however why do you only probably barely speak one language. most of the world speaks a national tounge , 3-7 regional dialects, and two or three other nations languages. but the usa is #1 right?? Education is or should be #1 .

  • @circusboy90210 I told stonerj0e "Welcome to earth" and told him that not everyone speaks his language, nor should they be forced to do so (implying that he should learn another language). It's one thing to ask for an English translation, it's another thing entirely to demand it to be in English and call the poster an asshole for not posting it in English. Other than the 5 languages I already speak, how many more would you like me to learn before you'll stop harassing me for being American?

  • El Magnifico! Bueno! Mucho Bueno!

I have much respect for anyone that can use a battery for mobility. This is Fantastico! Brilliant!

  • awesome! JUMP!

  • Max current is much more than 40 A ! Lipo has always 10C or 20C ! Probably is 40Ah

  • I like it. Where do you put the Golf Clubs!!!

  • P=IV, 48V*40A = 1920w, How can you make 34kW?

  • 2 sets of batteries, 42V each. :)

  • It's probably 40AH. I doubt the max current is 40A. That would suck.

  • Cant wait for a Brushless version! But then the Mah would have to OUTRAGEOUS. Oh well cool glad they made it.

  • @cropdoc69 yay humongous lipos brushless would be sick

  • I was trying to estimate the running time for this setup. There's never really any mention of whether it can do say 10 laps at full power on a sprint track (say 3/4 mile). Mythbusters had 110v setup but again no mention of runtime. I wonder if regen in such a short track setup would have any effect??? I guess with all the weight you could run in the heavy classes (if they were ever allowed to race).

  • mm radio control racing would help your discussion

on a side note litium polymer battery are from hydro-quebec (quebec canada)

if im right very few sell those and buying li-po that goes in rc airplaine get expensive fast and those battery only work under a certain voltage very limited use for kert racing for whole season

  • 34kw = 45hp peak.

    Nuts kart !

the one I'm building will have a 15kw motor.

  • may be fasy but not for me. looks to clumsy and big. sorry it just looks awful

  • ohww yeah soooo hard for a 20000 dollar custom prototype electric kart to beat stock 2 stroke 4000 dollar karts.

  • F1 250s can beat this... two strokes YES... but this is cool iv neva seen an electric kart...

  • Doesnt come close to KF3, KF2, KZ2...

  • Electric carts pwn! Makes the blood flow out of your face upon accelleration. fuckin nuts.

  • @LOLDISNEYLAND No, 2 strokes any day.

  • @STFCcreamemlads Just 2? Takes more than that to get me off.

  • kento veri pou sani kelo ventra!

  • Can't wait to see this applied to motorcycles...

  • already has been. There are now electric salt flat bikes that are doing speed trials. They are extremely fast and beat petrol engine bikes like theres no competition. lol hence why the electric bikes are in their own class.

  • jump haha great song

  • electric motors don't have the RPM restriction like a piston style motor and create allot more torque for size.

  • no, they don't create more torque, they have 100% torque applied over the whole entire rev range of the motor. Hence why they get such good starts against combustion engines, they also have much larger rev ranges, so they don't lose time on gear shifts

  • Wtf did i just say. Dont fucking repeat me. And they are beating them off the start cause 2 strokes dont make shit for torque at low rpms.

  • like it or not thats wat it will b in near future looks good though

  • maybe for go karts but not in bigger cars, batteries just aren't efficient enough.

  • And then God (or maybe some chemist) gave us the A123 cell, or as some people refer to it, the LiFePO4 batteries.

  • Lol why the negative rating on him?, A123's rock, they can be charged from empty to full in 15mins! So all you have to do is stop at a service station every no and then like you normally do when traveling and they can take you as far as you want : ) I guess you meant energy dense instead of efficient cos they are REALLY efficient!

  • WHAT?!?!?!?

  • hi my name is thomas godtner and i wouldn't mind an english version of this video and the name of the song on this video. thanks guys

  • Van Halen - Jump

  • ENGLISH PLEASE!

  • the italian's good enough just to take the piss of.

    lol

  • @jondudeok

What are you expecting??...the guy should go learn English..to translate for you?.. Pretty arrogant m8

  • @anamenobodychose I understood him, and I don't speak Italian. All you have to do is listen. :)

  • Jaki noob kurwa

  • very nice,, i like and want to test it, pls e-mail me. therealfrenchlicker

  • Um, there are quite a few batteries out that can be charged in like 15 minutes now. A123 LiFePO4's can be charged in 5 minutes. You could have a spare pack that you charged while racing and then swapped it in during a normal pit stop.

Hell, even my old-as-your-mom SLA batteries can take a full charge in one hour without problems. Less if I don't care about cycle life...

  • So much to learn!

An SS Camaro has about the same range as an EV with a 50kw/hr battery pack (eg the Tesla or tzero) but the SS cost 20 to 30x more per mile to drive.

You want to see EVs in F1? Just watch Formula One next year with KERS, they'll be recharging their batteries with a 60kw motor while braking for EVERY corner then using it as a push-to-pass down the straights.

  • lol, have u heard of interchangeable batteries?

  • the future belongs to electric cars

  • maybe, but certainly not accu-powered ones. If reasearch in photo-voltaic technology will go as far as it seems to achieve by actual experiments with printed polymer compared to actual silicon production, it would be an interesting way to produce hydrogen.

If the future will be electric, certainly it will pass through electic motors powered by fuel cells burning hydrogen, not accus, due to their industrial cost, short life, recharge time and dangerous disposal.

  • Translation (to be checked) from Italian: 2 sets of batteries Lithium-Polymer, 48V each, 40 Amps, Charge = 2h, Over 1000 Cycles ; DC motor Magnetti-Marelli seperate excitation 96V, 34 kW peak = 48 CV; Total weight = 120 kg without pilot;

  • Nice brake system on that thing. Should slap a set of Brembo brakes!

  • That kart has an advantage 2 strokes don't. Fewer high temp moving parts banging around in a metal block.

  • mm i used to have a top kart.... i broke it last meeting, this could be good, however you guys that say its crap because the battery will go flat and whatnot, if you are running it at an enduro, i doubt you would have 1 battery, and i LOL at you guys who say "me and him are going pro in go-karting" Wtf? going pro?

seriously think about what you are writing here....

    Happy Youtubing, KOSMIC Power however

  • this kart will not beat my leopard @165kg

  • the only problem is battery take 4ever to charge, mine takes like 7 hours, while my gas one i fill up and run all day

  • It's already known that electric motors are way more potent than combustion engines.

The battery is the problem that's holding it back though.

  • WHAT DO U THINK IF U USE A NUKE ELECTRIC POWER PLANT ON UR GO KART? that would solve the problem u can run for ages

  • true dude you re my hero :)

  • ok cool, but is it economic to the consumer? and is it cheater proof?

id rather this be the future of karting than loud ugly 4 strokes.

  • 2 strokes are the loud ones and are also more smokie unlike 4 strokes that dont require you to mix petrol

  • 2 strokes require half the displacement of four strokes to make equal power...

  • this kart my brother has one and me and him are going pro in go-karting im gonna tell u now. eletric is a bad choice for the 6 hour endurences. on the last hour it starts to go dead and you only have so much speed then

  • Italian do it better !

  • Fowwhore you are so wrong. This was true with the old batteries, not anymore.

Greenmotorsport have high speed gokart that can last more than needed for a race.

For rental, you use 10 min, you charge 10 min.

  • LOL, that's like comparing a Mazda to a Bugatti.

Although, there are a few motors that you could put on there that could probably beat it pretty easily (a large ADC or a WarP). Provided the race didn't last longer than a few minutes, LOL.

  • wow one battery charge lasts 2 hours, but i didnt pick up if the dude said how much it takes to charge..

  • even though it may beat a gas powered kart doesn't mean it better, it doesn't make any good racing sounds like a 2 stroke would :D and half the fun is the noise that the gas powered engine makes :P

  • Electric has its own weird sound/vibe.

It's strange to be riding around and not hearing little or no noise from the motor.

  • What if they put a speaker on it with racing engine sounds VROOOM VROOM

  • ITALY!!!! HA HA....

  • I also caught that it has lithium polymer batteries.

  • I don't speak Italian, but I did catch "treinta y quatro kilowatt" @ 0:45.

    34,000 watts. = ~45.5hp

Don't know if it's peak or continuous, though.

In any case, it has monstrous torque (probably well over 200lbs/ft @ 0rpm).

  • how can it make torque at 0 rpm which is not moving?

  • You're thinking of work. You don't need to be moving to have torque.

  • no i meant the electric motor isnt spinning not the kart is moving

  • Unlike internal combustion engines, motors don't have to be spinning to make torque. That's one of their inherent advantages; you get full torque without needing to be in a specific RPM range.

Or do you mean scientifically speaking?

Torque is a measurement of force. Lay your arm flat on the table and try to push your hand down. Nothing is moving, so there is no power, but you can feel the torque in your arm.

  • no well i maent that there is no current going to the notor at 0rpms so there is no power im sure i coul make torque at evn just slightly above 0 rpm but not at 0

  • ??

Yeah there is. If there wasn't, it wouldn't be able to move from a stop.

In fact, if given a limitless supply of current, 0RPM (stall) is where you will get the most torque out of the motor (but it will get really hot really fast).

  • well i was talking about without current at all not thinking about stall speed. sorry for that.

  • LOL, that's fine.

  • Not true at all. At 0 rpm the motors is able to consume more power than at any other time during operation. They make peak torque at 0 rpm, and actually lose torque as rpm raises.

the people saying an electric motors has full torque all the time are wrong. This is only true while you can apply full current at a given rpm. Eventually you can't get the current into the coils fast enough and the torque rolls off as peak HP comes up. However, the torque curve is still much wider than IC.

  • You do realize that the DC motors are hooked up to constant current source, current limited motor controllers which give the DC motors that horizontal torque curve characteristic that everyone talks about up to a point, then the torque does roll off as you stated. Although hooking the motor directly to a battery does make it not have a that characteristic anymore. Also, not all motors make max torque at 0 RPM. Examples are AC induction motors (except NEMA design D type).

  • Not true at all. Every battery has a limit to how much power it will supply, therefore, the motors torque will always fall off, even if shorted dead to your battery pack.

You need to shutup and accept your level of stupidity.

  • No where did I say hooking it up to a battery would mean its stays flat further or has infinite torque. I DID SAY though it would not have the same characteristic anymore. The torque would instead behave as however the motor is configured (series, shunt or PM). All constant current source limit does is chop the torque curve which gives it that flat look. Nothing really special about it to be honest other than.

  • Protecting the motor from surge currents and not killing the MOSFETS in the controller. If you wish to insult my intelligence then I would be more than happy to test you on the different electrical network theorems to see what you really know. Seems you just flame or probably troll on forums. Have a nice day!

  • movement has nothing to do with torque. Torque is simply the total force apllied in a given instant. Think of it as voltage.

Horse power is that torque spread out over time, like volt-amps. To put it another way, horse power is toruqe x rpm.

  • No habla italia.

  • electric motors have their peak torque at any rps 2 strokes make theirs at top rpm thats probably why it won because of its ability to climb to top rpm faster...i bet my 80cc would mash on it tho i have EVERYTHING DONE TO IT...its a very well blueprinted engine

  • Unless you speak Italian you have no idea how much power that Electric motor is rated at. This thing is beating 125cc superkarts without using a gearbox!!! It would have 3 or 5 times as much torque as a 2 stroke.

  • th torque range of my rotax max junior is 8-11000 rpm but its top is 12500 rpm.

but my yamaha ran to 15,500 rpm and had torque from 8-15000

    every engine is different

    FORDGTFANATIC

  • It would be great if I could understand what they are saying

  • hah!!!! it's italian and i can understand it!

  • Ok cool Frank...what are they saying?

  • subtitles anyone

  • great its not in english... how very disapointing

  • crazy!!
