cause i did that 10 years ago, beta testing live 1, doing (already at that time) retro breakbeats, been there done that, came back to hardware, more intuitive to compose and jam with than a laptop, regardless of the number or quality of your controllers, you have to have dual use knobs or things, i don't want to have that live, i want 1 knob one function, always the same
I totally agree. I mean Ableton is amazing don't get me wrong. I love all the plug ins and options...but i have to agree using hardware seems much more intuitive. I guess it really depends on how you work. Me, i like to feel like i'm a prt of the machine...like driving a stick shift 57 Chevy, a bit clunky but oh the raw power.

Damn that sucks about your hard drive. At least you have all the videos on backup. I remember when I lost all my mixes and software when mine went.
