  • Speechless! How does anyone coach soooo many people at the same time and it's soooo crowded on stage. O.o

  • everytime i watch this video i think abck to how much fun we had making this dance. even thought it was kinda last minute. i miss dancing. I come find videos on youtube... I miss everyone

  • Wow.....speechless.

  • Comment removed

  • Such precious memory. Look at how young and small we were ^_^

  • Omg, I miss this. We were so young back then. (:

  • what is the song called for the model part?

  • Hey do you by any chance know the name of the first and second dance group's name in your video or anyone. If so please tell me. Thank you^_^

  • I do, but long gone. 2006 is the peak of Mee Vang dance school - 130 dancers. Largest in Hmong history.

  • This is a mixture of all of Mee's six groups combined so there's not really a who is who's group but the indian group

  • um.. chinese cloths and dancing hmnog no it does not match

  • wat tha fuck!! LoL!

  • wow.. nice job.. we hmong california should have a group like this too.. keep it up...

  • This is so impressive! Great job!

  • dang this is hella good performance...

    heela flexable pppl...good dancers too

    give a clap for this...

  • This is a dance competition, not a performance or acrobatic competition. I admire the fact that you guys are trying to "STEAL" the competition with your skills but please, this is a competition where competitors show off their coordinated dancing skills and vocal abilities. Not only that, your group needs a lot of practice because you guys are all out of SYNC. And from the looks of it, it looks like you guys picked up EXTRA casts. Good Luck and keep "STEALING"

    - K Lyght 41

  • Sorry but for your info, this was not a competition dance, it was just an entertaining performance that my teacher put together within 4 weeks. All of these are her six groups combined. This is the first time in Hmong history that we actually have something like this.

  • I understand where you are coming from too but you have think about the amount of time we put this together and the number of students that participated in this routine. It's not an easy job. And keep "STEALING" what is that supposed to mean?

  • its tat Mee Hang in the pink top and long white dress?

  • No it's Mee Vang/ Vue

  • i was the second one when the minutes are on 2:49 and 2:50 i wore the green one on the first day and yellow and red on the next. that was when i was in first grade and looked so cute

  • yep..dancers of 2006

  • its so cool how they can still dance with 150 dancers but its a good thing the stagee is big enough for them notl ike in california here sacramento hmong new year stage is way too small

  • muahaha watta remix awesome

  • Wow! That was awesome!

  • LOV3 YOU GUYS!!!

  • I have to agree. Same goes here two years ago where india dance is the most popular

  • I like the dancing...but need some new singers...some sound good..but some sound not soo good..but this is awesome tho :]

  • How could people say this is not worth watching? This must be the BEST VIDEO in a lifetime. What's wrong with showing our talents on this stage? This stage is ours to dance on. If there's not us there, would there even be a New Year? Would there even be anything worth watching at the NY? Hahh, think about that.

  • Dear all students:

Be prepare and ready for our 2009 "Ntsa Iab" dance. We will start very soon. This way, she has prenty of time to creat a nice one. We may have to make new costume for this special dance too.....

  • where do u guys have it at??? only at mn???

  • Honestly, this was the BEST YEAR in my life. I remember back then where we still have EVERYONE. But, life goes on without all those other people that left. In these 2 years from this video and to now, we've all made other memories worth cherishing. BUT, Watching this video really brings me to back then. I LOVE THIS DANCE :)

  • yeah i agreed with u about the people and the dance but im not so sure about it being the best year.. i think i like 2005 new year more because when qeej, pov pob, soldier, and xi xong(?, peacok, and pingpa first came out, i think that it was a lot more interesting..gosh i miss that year soo much...

  • Who is this?

ANND, I agree with you also, about those things FIRST coming out. That year was very VERY Exciting. But this dance and that year has made a HUGE Impact in my life. Winning FIRST PLACE and having so much fun with everyone =)

  • yeah only if there can be more of those years then dance memories will stay forever :)

  • Thanks for sharing this video. Wish we had a teacher like that in California. It's a way to keep the kids engaged in something positive.

  • very nice performance but why was she singing in chinese in the first half?

  • i always liked the india/bollywood dances most altho the song has to be a good song with a good dance also.

i remember when i first saw them dance i thought it was so cool but now i'm not really interested in it as much. for me now, it's ok.

  • omg...this is the most amazing performance i've ever seen...wow...bravo to you all...

  • dam that's a lot of people...

  • i loved the india dance. did minnesota angels do the india dance?

  • No such thing as Minnesota Angel... This Minnesota Devil come about later when Peter Vang and Koua Vang, these two poor guys fight for $2000 from Lao Family could not get all that money and they spread away to become Minnesota Devil...... simply and period.

  • yeah mn angels did danced to this indian dance but the teacher whom taught this dance is not the same teacher as right now.

  • yeah mn angels did danced to this indian dance but the teacher whom taught this dance is not the same teacher as right now.

  • hello? she's my dance teacher and she is hmong but born in china! i switch to ntxais yaj yuam. i use to be in ntxais raj ntxuj

  • Magnificent!!!!!! Well done!!!!

  • Mee Vang is a Hmong Chinese who married to this one Vue guy in Minneapolis, MN.

  • who is Mee Vang?? and is she inthe video if sh is wat color is she wearing??

  • The singer. She is a dance teacher and a singer.....

  • The beautiful lady on the video that sing both Chinese and Hmong..... at the beginning and at the last of the dancen.... that's who she is.....

  • In search of.......the true Hmong dance? As Spock is fond of saying, logic suggests we may never find it.......By the way, what the hell is wrong w/ Fresno new yr? How come we don't get to see this good shit in CA?

  • I understand it is not easy, and may never find it... but will continue our quest. Yes, this is the largest dance school in Hmong history. Best "Hmong" dance teacher in the entire Universe... This "Ntsa Iab" dancers are Mee Vang's dance school alone, and continue to growth.

  • Remember, these kids rehearsal this dance only 6 times before the show, but they did great. This year, she was giving 4 weeks notice before the new year to prepare ntsa iab again. Hopefully, 2009 ntsa iab would be better if they let her know many months in advance.

  • cont:DANCE AND LANGUAGE AND HAVE COMBINED IT WITH WHATS LEFT OF US THAT MAKES US TRULY HMONG, EXAMPLE: ZAUG TSHUA, AND OUR TRADITIONAL CLOTHES. The answer we keep searching for is really within us. This may sound corny, but Hmong is me and you. We've evolved and changed so much along our journey. But we are truly special because we are a little part, chinese, laotion, thai. And I love that we incorporate those dances in our culture. Hmong is unique.

  • In search of a "hmong dance"? I don't know if there is such a thing honestly? That's a tough question because, the reason behind it is, we don't have our own country! But as I have grown to appreciate and understand...Hmong is special because WE ARE ALL OF THOSE THINGS, WE HAVE TRAVELED A LONG WAYS, FROM CHINA, LAOS, THAILAND, TO USA/FRANCE/AUSTRALIA ETC...AND ALONG THE WAY, WE'VE PICKED UP LITTLE BITS OF CULTURE,

  • omgaww! i love you butterflies! lol. i was once a singer in the butterfly group ^_^ too bad im not in there anymore =( I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

  • get a life people......why don't you'll run for president...damn..this was a spectacular dance routine...thats all it was..please...

  • the girl doing the peacock dance ripped off her dance from a deaf chinese girl performance.

  • wow.... i wish i can teach my group that 2...

  • sorry to be means to some of you guy's comments... but please understand that i am a 50 years old (old people have short temper) and i have never seen a Hmong dance. Those so call Hmong dance are actually "lao" dance. Lao dance was not adopted or learned before we coming to the u.s... therefore, to say we don't dance Hmong dance make piss me off sometimes....

  • wow!!! its so bright!

  • very cute

  • there really good at dancing w/ so many ppls on stage. i gotta say WOW! so many colorful dress..

  • love it, even though there's so much activity going on stage at once. i wish fresno could put something this big together.

  • whoo^^

    yay, go hmong-chinese

    we ROCK the

    mada-fucking stage^^

  • how is dis hmong culture???all dey do is sing n break dance...reminds me of chinese new year....

  • nice and creative..but then i think that theres too many people..i really dont know WHO to concentrate on.........

  • i fucken swear... minnesota people always do the same old shitty dance every freaken year! BORING!!! always do them stupid flips and cart wheels.

  • Oh, "i fucken swear.." you are a stupid fucken child that's why you are using fucken language.

  • AwesomE!!!!

  • How they are wearing two outfits at the same time?

  • yeah i do agree,

that everyone is right ! that it is the hmong new year not he chinese new year soo yeah maybe do hmong dacning! but wow ! I got to say that it soooo great how you guys put everything topday !wow

  • Quite a few of you audiance are saying too much chinese, not Hmong! I am a little confused and lost. To have Hmong dresses... it really dark, and tighter so our dancers can't move freely. To dance like a Hmong? What is "Hmong". Since we don't have a dance of our own. Not sure what ages you are that asking for "Hmong" dance. As far as I remember, Hmong has no dance of our own, even today.

  • Those dances that you seen with Hmong singing musics are NOT Hmong dance either. They are Laos dances (unless you were born in the U.S. and those words were planted or make believe that they are Hmong dance My adults). I was born in 1960, and I have never seen a Hmong dance. We Hmong don't even know how to write song until the 70s. Therefore, sorry to say but we are a people of no nation, no identity, no track, and no trace.....

  • also, if you look at Hmong men's dresses.. that so call true Hmong man's shirt with the string tied to the left... and the parachute type of black cap, when I was young, I thought they are 100% Hmong stuff, but now the truth is: they are Chinese. What confusing me too is that many of you accepted break dance well, yet less then .01% are Hmong in original. Can anyone tell me exactly what is Hmong and I will meet that.

  • i dont know... i really dont know... i would like to know myself what is the difference between chinese, korean, cambodian, vietnamese, thai, hmong, laos, burmanese, japanese, british, german, french... etc... the only thing i can think of that is a reasonable answer is that they do things differently.

  • we dont just do things differently. our culture is different, language, food, history, tradition and so much more.

  • thing(s)?????

  • you would have to travel back in time to meet the traditional hmongs.

  • I suggest you do more research on our people in order to answer your own questions. I don't think this forum allows enough characters to discuss this subject matter.

  • I think do a research to find out what is Hmong, could not solve the issue of Hmong entertainment. Why? because we don't even have a committee, a group or an organization to shape up the Hmong entertainment industry. Lao family Org. or 18 Hmong clans are not a form of entertainment. They are just here to begin Hmong people's lives. We need an Org about Hmong entertainment.

    Thanks

  • Please, go and do some research of our people before you start putting down our people. We have come a long way to organize ourselves here in the states, we have lost a lot of our identity and culture but we are still HMONG! Regardless of what dance, food, life style and languages our people use...it just goes to show that we are very adaptable people, as you can see through our history. We are strong and willing people.

  • thank you, finally a smart one.

  • what did i say that is putting people's culture down...

  • is that annie xiong! she's pretty!

  • i think dese peepo posting dere veedio in hope to attrak a wyder audiance. day dong weesh needer sun-shine nor minnesota devils wud jump in and kritisize nor klam dere r batter. weesh peepo would jass watch and leeve the page alone so dat no argument from nao on. wee outsider hat seeing dese bad argument. hope u peepo understand.

  • Just remember.... entertainment is public figure. People will say negative or positive if they can but they just cannot step out of bound or they will facing lawusit. However, some Hmong people just understand what we did or what we are doing in Minnesota. All of us need to look further and beyond Minnesota. Let's look at Hollywood or movie stars. Recently, let's understand Britney Spear in the media..

    Thanks

  • I think it's cool that you guys have so many dancers but it just gets really overwhelming after awhile because more and more of you just keep coming! That and, like a lot of other people have said, it's TOO Chinese!! It's weird, confusing, and WAY TOO MUCH!!! Again, it's the HMONG new year, you should keep that in mind for your next dance!! Sorry but it's the truth!

  • don't get so jelious..... you can't get big and hurt your feeling that much... sorry, can't help. you go to hmong new year, this is our new year.... haha

  • No wonder Hmong are this slow progress in everything because there are people who stick to old hmong mind like you. If you want a pure hmong new year, go organize your very own hmong new year, this is our new year. we will be even bigger, better, more advance dances the years to come.

  • You know, I'm not just saying this randomly. I have been dancing for years and I actually help out during the Hmong New Year dance competitions. I know what I am talking about so don't just start assuming stuff. Yeah I know that it hurts to hear people expressing their opinions but its the truth and it looks like i'm not the only one saying it so that should be telling you and your dancers something.

  • we hmong are a people of no nation, no track, no trace, and no shadow of our own. anyone make believe that we have "hmong dance" is lying to themselves, or likely saying out of hatrets... search your sole, your heart, and your mind carefully and you will see that we Hmong have no trace..

  • And another thing, Hmong people are slow in progress because we keep doing other peoples things and not sticking to our own traditions and our own culture. We keep representing other people's work instead of showcasing our Hmong talents and our true dances. Just think about that!

  • did you read someone's comment down below? you have to travel in time to get your real hmong dance. I don't know if you are an older person, if you are, would be hard for you change your attitude toward change. if you are young, you may have been brainwash to believe that we Hmong have a dance of our own.

  • please upload a "real Hmong dance" to show us and we will be glad to adopt it immediately. No one is more proud of my hmong then me... zajlaug... but even me, can not find a "hmong" dance that I can be proud of...

  • we hmong can not progess because we hmong often shutdown our eye for new thing, our ear for new sounds, .... a Hmong woman said... Poj yawm txwv txoob yeej tsis tau ua dua los... yes, how could they do it... none was educated...none have ever seen it...therefore, how could poj yawm txwv txooj pave a way for you young ones to follow...?

  • Zajlaug...... more than likely and 75% of those who can use youtube or internet are young people... and likely they are born in this country. They didn't even know where they came from. These young people did not know what will come out of their mount, mind and keyboard. I totally agree what you mean.. Thanks

  • I agree with you totally. One more thing I would like to add to your comment. Hmong people don't like what Hmong people do. Hmong people don't support what Hmong people do. Hmong people don't appreciated what Hmong people do. Finally, Hmong people afraid outsider but fight within our own left and right.

    Thanks

  • hmongstar2000: thank you for your understanding. thank you for your positive comments. As I said, we Hmong don't have a dance of our own. All dances, as soon as you seen it, you can tell if it is "lao", "chinese" or say "india". None that when you see it, you will say "it is Hmong".

  • Therefore, we are in "search of" a dance that can easily identify, whether in the U.S., China, or Laos as "hmong dance". But, don't know when or how far ahead before we can hit that reality. But we don't give up hope yet. We have came a long way, and will continue to bear all critizisms we can until that day that we hit a dance style that young or old can say "that's Hmong dance".

  • One more disadvantage: No hmong musician is willing or can produce a dance music for us. We offer several hundred to thousand dollars for a creative music for our dance, yet no one has step forward to give a try, at least a try for the history of our people.

  • hey u guys mn Ntsa iab i think u guys should dance a new dance and not chinese cause people are BITCHING AT U GUYS ALOT and u guys should dance hmong and u are rihgt msKiana it's not talent show it's hmong new year.

  • bitching not bitching is dere problem. u r bad person. u wish to kree-at disturbance. eef dis grup is too chynese, and u dong lyke dere danse dat much, jass close de ween-do kuicklee and leeve dam alon. dad wud bee de eesiest thing for u tu du. hop u wud never klick on dare page agan.

  • My dear audiance, please watch it and if you don't like it, just leave. please do not leave negative comments. A clean page is better then a lot of negative comments. We posted these video to show our kids' talent and their processes over the years, and never wish for anyone's negative comments. thanks for your understanding, especially those other dancers that know these kids.

  • very lame and boring...........

  • the dances are good, but I HATE IT SO MUCH. this is not even HMONG DANCE. why spend so much effort dancing when you don't see any hmong dances. be proud with the hmong culture. IT'S THE FREAKEN HMONG NEW YEAR. NOT A FUCKEN TALENT SHOW. GET THE DIFFERENCES WILL YA!

  • wat is this a whole group of ppl danceing

    this is weird

  • hey who is the lady singing in chinese...ish she hmong or chinese...i like her singing..it seen like ayuduo...but..j/w..kk..realli nice dance...

  • Did they perform on Saturday and Sunday of 2006?

  • wow...peb cov hmong tsis dog dig lawm nawb...keep it up.

  • we tried our best to brighten hmong new year event, yet, new year committee refused to let us peform. we were lucky to have someone close to the GENERAL, and shown him our practicing video, and he order the new year committee to allow us on the stage... otherwise, hmong's vision is very narrow.

  • new year committee told us we have to perform on the floor, i said if so, we rather not. they said too many kids, we might break our legs, i said no. days before the event, we were told "no". they all "tu siab tas". glade GENERAL seen our rehearsal and he ordered new year committee to allow us on the stage, cause he want to see something new... that's how we got our chance, otherwise, no.

  • This Dance group were hmong but all the dance moves were in chinese. They're good cuz but a little hmong would be better. Hahahaha...I was on stage in this vid. my band were the one playing that night. Matter of fact, we're on stage here watching them. hehehehehe

  • Umm. ii liike ALOT! but thenn...

ii diidn't realliie knoe wat there

    realiie doiin..

    cuz on part there daniing..

    n da gurls be siiniing...

n there be a MIIX or sumtiing liike

    dat..

n iits good too have ALOT of pplz..

but then ii diink iit's to MUCH!??..

    well niice job tho.

  • why is it called hmong new year when people dont even perform in hmong. hella gay..

  • we must learn to open our mind for changes.... those want to keep the old ones should do so, those want to be more creative, don't stope them. plus, those so called "hmong dances" are not really old. been around for just 30 years or so only, that's not too old, not too traditiona, not so hmong either (they are laos)

  • no offend but it is gay. They always do the same type of sitting down, flipping or whatever all the time. so basically there is no point to this.

  • sitting down, flippings are gay stuff? Don't offended those people. they don't do these stuff, so, watch what you say.

  • wow this is very nice. I didn't know that mee vang teaches indian too.

  • yeah, she did and it was her idea to incorporated fliping with india.... isn't that great?

  • no she didn't.....one of her dancers did!!!!

  • I thought Aleya taught the Indian dances & MaiKa taught the gymnastics? Both of whom have left the group.

  • i wonder where they practice...

  • there are 7 teams, each team practice individually parts, at the final day, they asked a school gym so they can practice combining all 7 dances.... that's how they did it. cause their regular dance space would not accomodated this large group....

  • their practices place is in saint paul, MN. if interested, call 612 669 2067. or just stop be at "taj laj tshav puam"

  • Man i love this video. U guys rock the stage every time u guys are on it. Man good luck at the Hmong American New Year.

  • they also have "ntsa iab -2008". just wait, it is coming. Hmong Minnesota new year committee did not request for the "ntsa Iab" until 4 weeks before the new year and so they have very short time to practice their 2008 ntsa iab, but it was great... too... youngest dancers? 5, oldest dancers? 45....

  • Hey zajlaugwu are u going to upload their Ntsa Iab 2008 and other dances.

  • my old hardware would not work with my vista system.... i have to buy a new one... at the meantime, be patience.

  • wow very beautiful

  • 150 dancers!!!! OMG, that is amazing!!!

  • Hmoobsuperman, I think that this is the best that ever happen in Hmong history of performance arts. They did a great job with this many performers on one stage. Be proud of what your Hmong community has come up with. It is amazing how other cultures praise the Hmong people for things like this but Hmong people like you would critisize your own kind. How sad.

  • i like the peacock dance... pretty

  • lol
