Once Sammy, Joe and Michael decided to do this project they collectively looked for a Drummer with the Power and Funk/Rock licks to lay down the Backbone of their Rare Groove, there were Thousands... that`s 1,000`s of choices in Cali alone and they made a GREAT choice in Chad Smith. When everyone heard the Groove invested pocket Michael and Chad layed down it was very clear and not surprizing at all. No Style? Are you wearing Wing Tips or what??
I've followed Joe for years and I'm pretty sure he's a health nut (not unlike Vai....), at 53 Joe isn't going to screw up what he has with over-partying....same goes for all the guys.....though I can't speak for Chad,,,,I don't know about him that well other than a very fine kick-ass drummer.

I love this collaboration - its an absolutely awesome collection of music. These four guys really rock - I have been listening to this CD non stop for weeks. The really funny part of the equation is that I don't own any music by the RHCP, Van Halen or Joe Satriani. Sure hope that they are not a one CD wonder. Cheers.

Heres the deal folks I've seen live vid from the band right here from seatle or some shit and here is my problem they were playing Bad Motor Scooter which is a Montrose song that Sammy used to be inand Sammy had the fucking balls to take the solo. Sammy get a fucking clue when your are three feet from the guy who taught Steve Vai a guitar should not be anywhere near your reach its offensive Joe could melt your face with the shit he plays and you suck compared to him.
guitarwhiz777 that's ridiculous. Sammy was a great guitarist in his own right and was playing stadium LONG before Satriani was on the scene. Joe may have more skills technically, most of them just flash imo, but i think it's a sin whenever Sammy is NOT on the guitar with him. They should BOTH be playing.
This band is a great side project, especially for Chad Smith! The only slight issue I have with the music is Hagars vocals. He is an amazing vocalist, however I eel like he needs to modernize his lyrics a little bit. However on the flip side, he brings in the nice hint of "pure, raw rock" in the band! I'll be buyin' this album no doubt!
Red Hot Chili Peppers have been on a hiatus for two years now and plan on returning in September. Mark Antony plays bass and he is from Van Halen along with Hagar. Hagar just sings I think.

This is not what we're used to hear, but this what makes it so cool.
It's kinda bluesy, with lots of rock inside and the geniality to make rhythms from Satriani, you can see he always tends to variate on the riff, even slightly.
I can't talk much about the other members because I've been a Satriani fan for a quite long time now and haven't got the chance to check each other member individually, but they've got everything to be THE rock band!
saw these guys last night, fuckin amazing. i mean i really just wanted to see them for satch, but they're solid all around, definitely worth seeing if you can. and i love this rockin riff.

very nice rock and roll vibe. of course they'll sound different than what you guys are used to, for they are creating something new. its not satch, chad, michael and sammy, its chickenfoot. chickenfoot sounds and looks more solid than other supergroups.
in my eyes this guys make great music..it sounds great how they are making music, BUT i think that they were better in their own or with their bands. For example chad fits rather to the red hot chili peppers than to chickenfoot and satriani was frequently better when he did his own things...thats my oppinion and that does not mean that is it the only right one, so pls do not start discussing about it^^ ;)
I felt the same. All great players but this is glorified bar music. They are too talented to put this stuff out. All of Satriani's albums are better than this. And Hagar has one voice only. He's too one dimensional for anything exceptional. When i heard he was going to be the vocalist I knew it was going to be like this. Satch could have been in Deep Purple but settled for this?

I love this collaboration - its an absolutely awesome collection of music. These four guys really rock - I have been listening to this CD non stop for weeks. The really funny part of the equation is that I don't own any music by the RHCP, Van Halen or Joe Satriani. Sure hope that they are not a one CD wonder. Cheers.

Heres the deal folks I've seen live vid from the band right here from seatle or some shit and here is my problem they were playing Bad Motor Scooter which is a Montrose song that Sammy used to be inand Sammy had the fucking balls to take the solo. Sammy get a fucking clue when your are three feet from the guy who taught Steve Vai a guitar should not be anywhere near your reach its offensive Joe could melt your face with the shit he plays and you suck compared to him.

guitarwhiz777 that's ridiculous. Sammy was a great guitarist in his own right and was playing stadium LONG before Satriani was on the scene. Joe may have more skills technically, most of them just flash imo, but i think it's a sin whenever Sammy is NOT on the guitar with him. They should BOTH be playing.

This band is a great side project, especially for Chad Smith! The only slight issue I have with the music is Hagars vocals. He is an amazing vocalist, however I eel like he needs to modernize his lyrics a little bit. However on the flip side, he brings in the nice hint of "pure, raw rock" in the band! I'll be buyin' this album no doubt!

Red Hot Chili Peppers have been on a hiatus for two years now and plan on returning in September. Mark Antony plays bass and he is from Van Halen along with Hagar. Hagar just sings I think.

This is not what we're used to hear, but this what makes it so cool.
It's kinda bluesy, with lots of rock inside and the geniality to make rhythms from Satriani, you can see he always tends to variate on the riff, even slightly.
I can't talk much about the other members because I've been a Satriani fan for a quite long time now and haven't got the chance to check each other member individually, but they've got everything to be THE rock band!

saw these guys last night, fuckin amazing. i mean i really just wanted to see them for satch, but they're solid all around, definitely worth seeing if you can. and i love this rockin riff.

very nice rock and roll vibe. of course they'll sound different than what you guys are used to, for they are creating something new. its not satch, chad, michael and sammy, its chickenfoot. chickenfoot sounds and looks more solid than other supergroups.

in my eyes this guys make great music..it sounds great how they are making music, BUT i think that they were better in their own or with their bands. For example chad fits rather to the red hot chili peppers than to chickenfoot and satriani was frequently better when he did his own things...thats my oppinion and that does not mean that is it the only right one, so pls do not start discussing about it^^ ;)

I felt the same. All great players but this is glorified bar music. They are too talented to put this stuff out. All of Satriani's albums are better than this. And Hagar has one voice only. He's too one dimensional for anything exceptional. When i heard he was going to be the vocalist I knew it was going to be like this. Satch could have been in Deep Purple but settled for this?
