  • Nice triple flair>>> lolz

  • ah, Allen 10 knots at an 80 degree angle is NOTHING! hahaha, come on over to my home airport GNOSS(KDVO) We are notoroius for having some of the most intense crossiwinds in all of california. An easy day is winds 220 an 12. I actually am happy I learned that way. Now x-winds dont phase me( as long as there in the demonstrated x-wind component of my plane) ha

  • Too funny as more often then not, students around these neck of the woods won't be allowed to solo over 7 knots Xwind component. Out your way, you probably don't even blink an eye :-))))

  • haha, actually the FBO here has a 7 knot x-wind max for student pilots too.....but we are usually training in 9 knots avg. so there is some leeway(spelling) for students.

BTW any more info on your flight this friday? Go no go?

  • No go. Winds out of the south to bring gulf moisture up. Getting to Oh, no brainer, no problem. Coming back, Sunday has forecast of 50 percent chance of T'storms. My no go decision is 30 percent, so trusty ole back up of SWA now mode of transportation. But hey, I am still flying, just at the rear of the bus :-)

  • where i trained, there's a 7 knot max for soloing student pilots. however, during training, i was put up against 15 knot x-winds. that was scary shit ill tell ya.

  • For the love of all that's holy, please get a tripod.

But the landings looked pretty good to me.

  • Don't feel obliged to zoom in to the point where the plane films the screen. You'll have less jitter if you don't zoom in as much, and I'm sure you'll still be able to see all the detail you need of the plane in relation to the runway.

Regarding the call for the go-around, I only watched it once (busy day here). The balloon was not too severe, the climb was smoothly arrested, transitioning back into a slow, controlled descent. Assuming there was plenty of remaining runway, I'd say he was fine.

  • LOL

    Reasons are as follows

Cameraman crappy with the camera (me)

Cameraman to lazy to take monopod with him everywhere (me)

Cameraman operating in digital zoom (me)

Cameraman would love to say the ground was shaking from 160 ponies roaring by, causing the shake, but he can't!

  • Hey Haw!! Just like Ropin' a bull!! Why's the camera so jumpy he's filming on the ground?

  • Winds where I am were at 30 gusting to 38 last week. :P

    Grrreat video!

  • Glad he got off and back on ground safely, made for some scary moments, though. 5/5 stars!
