what I would like to know is when NWA started to use the Big Gold Belt as I just .. well mostly associate it with the WCW. why did they change it from the smaller square one?
@englishtwister The Big Gold Belt left with Flair(to the WWF) due to a dispute with WCW Vice President Jim Herd in which Herd refused to return Flair's $25,000 deposit.
when they started these Funeral promos thats when it became realy cool il never forget the time i seen on tv when the warrior got locked in his casket everything seem real back then but its still cool to see today
funny how flair talks to hogan about butterflys in his stomach, funny cause thats what you'd say to a rookie or a young wrestler not a 37 year old hogan.
@liw213 Flair left wcw on bad terms and was world champ at the time. When this first aired the belt was blured out and you couldn't even see it clearly.
@liw213 NWA refused to return the deposit wrestlers had to put down for the belt in those days after Flair got fired while still the NWA champion, so Flair refused to hand over the belt. I think it was like 25,000 too so it wasn't chump change. He still has that Big Gold Belt because the money never was returned to him.
Do you guys see what is happening here?????? The Undertaker was relatively a new comer at the time even though he had stints in other organizations before coming to the WWF... and look at the talent around him... LEGENDS.. Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Randy Savage, Roddy Piper..... It's obvious Vince had hand picked The Undertaker to play on a big stage as soon as he entered the WWF.
I remember when I was a kid and the moment Flair got in Hogan's face it was like a dream come true. It was so different back then. The companies didn't even talk about each other and for Flair to show up with the WCW big gold belt, was definately a WOW!!!! moment.
He was champion there when he got fired. He still had the actual belt and just brought it to the WWF because WCW didn't give him his deposit back for it.
No it isn't. I've looked it up, and WCW got the title belt back and had it unified. After WCW went out of business, WWE took the Big Gold Belt design to create the WHC. It's a different belt. Just with the same basic design with a few changes.
Well, He and Piper had made good some years before (didn't last, lol) and he and Savage had probablyu brushed all that Mega Powers mess two years earlier under the carpet.
It IS weird seeing enemies save each others asses. Like when Taker ran down and saved Lesnar at one point! in 2003. or when he teamed with Warrior against Papa Shango and the Berzerker.

That's because this isn't the original version, it's the later WWE edit. They can't say WWF on their programming now.
