Not gonna lie - it looks like one shitty movie. However, I'll be watching it. I sat through Quantum of Solace to see Stana Katic so why would I stop there?
I don't know how this go to critically panned - it was constantly hilarious, and the visual style is incredible. I'd highly recommend this, it was some of the most fun I've had watching a movie in a while.
I found the Visual style to be hard to watch. it worked in the sin city movie...kinda...but miller really has no idea how to work in Movies as a medium. you can see it alot in the way characters move at times plus the Spirits Non stop inner monolog. is a Noir golden age pulp hero Frank....not freaking daredevil.
I think this movie was an amazing idea but it just didn't materialize as well. It could've been so much more, and that's why many people dislike this movie a lot.

I really like this movie, its awesome and interesting. The Femme Fatales are just beyond awesome. The plot is so good I kept staring at the screen till I finish the whole movie. Again doesn't matter how much it looks like Sin City or whatnot, the movie was great. =D
I had fun watching this movie, it's not the best comic book ever but it's a good,cheesy noir-ish, b-pulp film, with great visuals, good acting, snappy one-liners and plenty of beautiful women to go around. The acting/dialogue was fine as this sort of movie is supposed to be somewhat of a parody of the genera. The action scenes may not have been terrific but the movie didn't really call for them to be. The story was interesting and artsy.

Saw the second half of this the other, never heard of it before, quite liked it! Cool cinametogrophy, good action, classic one liners, and awesome line-up of beautliful women, mendez, johansson etc! Not a classic, but good entertainment!

Yeah..is that why it was considered one of the worst movies of all time and why The Dark Knight was considered one of the best. The Dark Knight was a huge success and grossed tons of money..The Spirit did not and was considered a flop. lol..well generally the better a movie is, the more people go o see it. Dark Knight was a fantastic movie and tons of people went to see it..The Spirit was a dissapointment and not many people went to see it. The only reason I even went was because the trailers for it was amazing, but it turned out to be garbage. In practically all of it's REVIEWS, it was ocnsidered terrible by most critics. Give it up...it's over XD

lol... generally the better the MARKETING for a movie is (like the Dark Knight) the more people will go see it. The Dark Knight was an ok movie but it was bland, over emphazied and REALLY overated/hyped. The reason it made so much money was because it was marketed brillantly and Heath Ledger died.... so bassically, a film for sheep.
and who gives a shit what the reveiws said? I'm not sure any of the critics actually got it for what is was supposed to be.

All the trailers made it seem amazing..like if they gave out emmies for trailers, The Spirit would win hands down. It was a huge flop and noone liked it lol. The action scenes were terrible, the story was terrible, and the dialogue was terrible. I mean it got a 14% approvel rating on Rotten Tomatoes for gods sake!! XD

The acting/dialogue was fine as this sort of movie is supposed to be somewhat of a parody of the genera. The action scenes may not have been terrific but the movie didn't really call for them to be. The story was interesting and artsy.
but whatever dude... personally I don't care what other people think about it. That being said though, I know a few Frank Miller fans who liked it :)
