If you've ever studied physics a day in your life, you would know how difficult it would be to stopping a 6 ton payload traveling at a high rate of speed DEAD IN ITS TRACKS in an instant. What if he falls asleep and drives his 50 ton machine into a crowded street only to kill hundreds, I rather he is the only one that dies so the Bollard did his job with excellence.
@andros1984 if someone drives a truck 70mph into a security barrier it had better hold. Better to kill 1 driver (if there is a driver) than risk everyone who could be on the other side. If a truck drives 70mph into almost anything the driver is a goner anyway.
