She likely titled it "Black Female Atheist" so that people could search youtube and find something relevant to their personal experiences. I have watched some videos on atheism/agnosticism, and have searched particularly for Black people and their experiences. Black people are known for being very, very religious, so it's interesting to know how people like me are handling their 'coming out'.
@olavm91 Probably because being black in the black community is a social stigma. I have a few black friends who are atheist and they commonly mention the fact that they are black atheists.
@RedSkyNord I think his poorly worded question was an interesting point. There's a huge group of white males that I know that are really are trying pull down this divide between gender & race. Real racism certainly exists, but this over emphasis on gender & race which comes from the black &/or female side of the cultural divide is really prevelant in the culture. I, for one, think it's counter productive. People need to cut it out if they want to make allies.

I asked one of my black friends who is atheist why he (literally) always refers to himself as a "black atheist"; opposed to just being an atheist and he told me that he wants people to know people like him exist. I personally have know many black atheists in my life because here in Europe it is not uncommon, but my friend, who is American says that blacks in America are most always Baptist-Christians. The black atheists he meets are over the internet.
@MrLittletomdj I understand what you're saying. But I also understand why someone would put Black Female Atheist as the title of her video. If you're a white male atheist and you join an atheist group where all the other atheists are black women. And most of the top authors writing about atheism were black women and most of the atheist Youtube videos were by black women, I could understand why you'd like to see another white male willing to say "I'm an atheist."

I am an Afro American Atheist woman....it's a quick transition ( that precise moment you become atheist ), but the impact of the reality is not so quick. It will take some time to settle into how this outlook will work in your life experiences.

If you believe there is some kind of God, then you're not atheist... you are deist, a lot of great thinkers have been deist, i personally don't think a God exists but i could be wrong, i just haven't seen any evidence, as existence is not evidence of creation, it means i'm an atheist, agnostic just means you believe we'll never know, so you can be an agnostic deist, agnostic atheist, or agnostic theist.
In the parable of the rich man and Lazarus, the rich man while suffering in hell, asks Abraham to send someone from the grave to warn his six brothers about coming to that terrible place. Abraham rebukes him and says "they have Moses and the prophets, if they don't believe them, then they won't believe even if someone were to rise from the dead". Here's something you need to understand. "Unexplainable" doesn't mean that there was necessarily a "god" responsible. Do you simply ignore the HUGE amount of information and knowledge we've gotten in the past 100 years? The unexplained is decreasing as modern science comes into its own. You're thinking like a person in the 1500's that though the heavenly bodies were kept in orbit by "miracles" and not by gravitation and the laws of physics as we know today.
Even the scientists of our time do acknowledge the fact that their ideas and theories do not stay consistent as they say they the big bang was infinitely here which itself is an uncaused event, or was created from nothingness. what does stay consistent is the idea of a supreme being. Don't get me wrong, i am not rejecting all scientific discovery, only the ones that DIRECTLY conflict or contradict the idea of a god. Personally, i get myriad of evidence that blatantly reassures me that god exists

Christian theology which shows you how in fact the Bible shows God did come down to deliver the message. Jesus is God in the flesh. The easiest place to see this is the first 14 verses of 1'st John. In fact that is one reason why pain and suffering exist, because evils are allowed in this world. The choices to be made are left to us. But as in life their are consequences for our choices. Now since He is the just judge it is for Him to decide if to offer grace depending on the true heart. Nice video and your indecision at the start where you stated you really didn't know what you position on "gods" was very familiar to me. Becoming an Atheist is usually something that comes either quickly or over a long period of time. I consider my Atheism as a "Revolution for One" where I came to my conclusions over a period of time. I'm not black, but I'm happy for you and that you are taking a stand and thinking for yourself. Stay string, your relatives may disapprove, and atheists like myself have to deal with disapproval. But one thing we have, is that we are strong and think independently and logically. The black female atheist population is low, and I advise you to make more videos. I have watched some videos on atheism/agnosticism, and have searched particularly for Black people and their experiences. I asked one of my black friends who is atheist why he (literally) always refers to himself as a "black atheist"; opposed to just being an atheist and he told me that he wants people to know people like him exist. I personally have know many black atheists in my life because here in Europe it is not uncommon, but my friend, who is American says that blacks in America are most always Baptist-Christians. The black atheists he meets are over the internet.

If he is your creator. Would'nt he want to save his creations. Nobody just wakes up wanting to kill themselves. That stuff just builds up until they can't take it anymore. You are born into sin. If you believe there is some kind of God, then you're not atheist... you are deist, a lot of great thinkers have been deist, i personally don't think a God exists but i could be wrong, i just haven't seen any evidence, as existence is not evidence of creation, it means i'm an atheist, agnostic just means you believe we'll never know, so you can be an agnostic deist, agnostic atheist, or agnostic theist.

Here's something you need to understand. "Unexplainable" doesn't mean that there was necessarily a "god" responsible. Do you simply ignore the HUGE amount of information and knowledge we've gotten in the past 100 years? The unexplained is decreasing as modern science comes into its own. You're thinking like a person in the 1500's that though the heavenly bodies were kept in orbit by "miracles" and not by gravitation and the laws of physics as we know today.

Even the scientists of our time do acknowledge the fact that their ideas and theories do not stay consistent as they say they the big bang was infinitely here which itself is an uncaused event, or was created from nothingness. what does stay consistent is the idea of a supreme being. Christian theology which shows you how in fact the Bible shows God did come down to deliver the message. Jesus is God in the flesh. The easiest place to see this is the first 14 verses of 1'st John. We are born into Sin but the Bible does state there is an age of accountability. He isn't going to send babies to hell. Do you really beleive God told her to put the baby in the drywer anyways? He is not man, and He may have perfect reasons for allowing suffering which you cannot understand. With death at our doorstep we appreciate life and are inclined to lead just lives. @EntinludeX That might be true if God actually prevented the evils from occurring, in effect removing free will. That is not the case. We are allowed to sin in this world as we please. In fact that is one reason why pain and suffering exist, because evils are allowed in this world. The choices to be made are left to us. But as in life their are consequences for our choices. So there is no dictatorial rule but more of a plea of love to do the right thing, all for our sake.

Secondly, a god who allows evil for the sake of a loyalty test is malevolent. Pharoh was not given a choice, his heart was hardened BY god. The Firstborn CHILDREN of Egypt were not given a choice, they were slaughtered.

Now since He is the just judge it is for Him to decide if to offer grace depending on the true heart. If we never underwent the choices needed for Him to grant this grace it would not have been our submission that had determination in this.

Becoming an Atheist is usually something that comes either quickly or over a long period of time. I consider my Atheism as a "Revolution for One" where I came to my conclusions over a period of time.
