  • Go off..!!

  • as a DJ, when I put this song on

    the crowd would go nuts!

  • Look at how young Jimmy Castor looks. Still looks how he did on those albums over 30+ years ago.

  • im a bboy and i know this is one heck of a song 2 break to im mean this is one of my fav songs!!!

  • You can get this song and all his other greatest hits on iTunes !!!!!!

  • B-Boy Jam always! bboys still get blood flowing like crazy to this track, it'll never die ;P

  • This choon was the shit. I remember the old days in TC5 and IBM hitting the lines and chillin at the 125 writers bench in NYC. Im 40 next year, living in London and kinda miss those days, but listening to these choons brings back loads of memories.

  • @bionikata the bench was at 149st 4sure!

  • @bionikata 40 this year too! don't forget FC! those were the days. Uptown NYC!

  • @drstrange629 Uptown Manhattan( Accross 110th st). First stop 111st off 7th ave, The Coma Crew (aka Bellvue Boys), Angel Dust.

Then you had a zillion spots up and down Lenox ave. Of course 123rd and 7th ave had every brand you could think off, from Busy Bee, Reverand Ike, Seal "A" Meal. Oman2, Star ways. Red Devil (133rd mad.) Crazy Eddie 116th between Park ave and 5th)

  • @drstrange629 Thriller 1986 (127st off 7th ave.) 145 Edgecombe-150 & Bradhurst=The Milkman.

    D-New-Bomber-Z aka Old Lady (118th & Lenox)

Being you are only 40, you more than likely were not doing this or you saw people getting Zooted Uptown. But, Uptown is no longer Uptown. Back in the days I was one of the few whites that could walk down those streets. Now, it is turning into a white area-again:( After like 70 years.

  • @drstrange629 I grew up on west 100st, between Columbus and Amsterdam. Still here. But, it's not the same. Perhaps for the better. But, I liked it when it was rough and run down. Only the strong survived.

    Peace out.

    RZ ROC,

    Rock Steady Crew~

  • 0:44 FTW!

  • Do you have the full version of this song?

  • try limewire

  • where the HELL can we get the full version of this song???????

  • When this came out in 1972 it must have been like a mushroom cloud compared to what else was about.

Plus it has one of the best outro's of all times... leaves you panting!

  • Are you kidding? There was sooooo much Boogaloo out then... not to mention all the straight Funk from that time period.

If you like this I promise there's more to be heard.

  • this song is in the dragon ball z: burst limit game lobby. that is how legit this song is =)

  • Woahhh ...this is the song from the breakdance scene on the movie Flashdance

  • CLASSIC song! It should be considered a sin for this clip to be so short! I grew up listening to Jimmy.

  • jabbwockeez did a nice evolution of hip hop dance with this being part of it. Great selection with castor. this is a def a break beat track.

  • Hiphop, funk or soul? Never mind, it is a great song whatever label you give it, Jimmy Castor's best song. Fun to see Mr Jimmy in action.

  • this is so fucking great!!!!

  • It would be so dope if this was performed live at a BBoy jam.

  • agrees with Slice1

I still have this on original vinyl :D

  • someone gotta put the full version of this up..

  • Hip Hop Classic! Breakdancers Best song EVER! THE BREAK ON THIS JOINT IS SERIOUS!

  • I ain't sayin' either way, but what about organ donor, by DJ shadow? or Looking for the Perfect Beat?

  • Great songs and I can agree with your point. Looking for the Perfect Beat is a great "POPPING" song and Organ Donor is another song I, personally would consider also. The reason I state that this is the Breakdancers best song EVER, is because this song was recorded before Breakin' jumped off. Just imagine, listening to the radio and this song comes on. MY first response was to dance wildly! Then when Breakdancing became popular, EVERYBODY was up-rockin' to this!

  • Organ Donor is definitely a contender but It's Just Begun is an all-time classic. Afrika Bambaataa & The Soul Sonic Force - The Godfathers of Hip Hop. Have to mention Planet Platrol and Man Parrish as some of the best in elektro music.
