Transylvania was part of Hungary until 1920, when it was given to Romania in the treaty after World War I. So Dracula is actually Hungarian and not Romanian.

Vlad Tepes (aka Drakula) was who he was. Transylvania has been claimed by various parties over the years. The Maygars came into that area after Vlad was dead (or undead, if you follow the Stoker hypothesis). @DrinkWater22 I don't know about Russian, but in Polish the w/v business is the other way ariound. That is, in polish 'w' is read as 'v', there is no 'v' in alphabet, and in order to denote an english 'w' sound a letter 'l' with a dash crossing it is used.

So, to put it simply , a Pole woud say "ve have a very touchy situation here".

I'm not 100% on what Dracula's accent is, but if it's Romanian then yeah.

Romanian/Transylvanian, same thing. Also very similar to Hungarian due to geographic proximity. So, Dracula would sound similar to someone Romanian, but not Russian.

All of the accents from Germanic languages tend to have the "w" for the "v" sound though.
