You are really stupid if you don´t see the principle wrongdoings, when putting someone into a prison without even trying to bring him to a court, just because you think or have been told that he is a terrorist, but obviously without much evidence, because otherwise they would have had more trials yet, and then even torturing them.
The Brits tried similar things with the IRA, but had to see themselves that injustice doesn´t stop terrorists, but it creates new ones.

There are/where detainees that where clearly innocent, some captured due to false intelligence, some where just sold by some Afghan thugs who made money whith selling "terrorists" to the US, and therefore just took some people from the streets and sold them.
The conflict between GB and the IRA hasn´t settled due to the injustice Britain tried first, but when GB reduced the injustice that lead to the conflict in the first place, like e.g. the unfair voting areas and the killing of innocent.

Perhaps a few, but does that mean all or even the vast majority are innocent? Absolutely not and the way to find out isn't by releasing them all and then conducting pointless trials of those who put them there (IE Bush officials) that would only divide the country like liberal hate mongers want even more.
GB showed no injustice, they did exactly what they had to in order to defeat terrorism and were able to ease up when acceptable conditions were created on the gound. Hmm just like Iraq...

Ever heard of "bloody sunday" which was the real start to IRA terror, when the military started to fire against unarmed, killing 13 people.
After some terror GB made a law change, to arrest terror suspects for as long as they want without trial.
This lead to even more terrorism, and law was reverted back again.
When GB made fair voting districts for northern Irland and other oppressions of the catholics were gone the IRA/Sinn Fein laid down their violent fight.
