Everything can be funny without being cruel. 9/11 wasn't funny but it was a year later and the show was going to NYC. Had to cut the tension :) also the Brits are much more worldly than Americans.

actually last year i went to newyork and asked the taxi driver to take me to the twin towers , that was hilarious i really pretended i didnt know they had fallen and had the lovely pakistani taxi driver explaining me the situation. he couldnt belive a ididnt know and in the end he told me wherever country i am from he wants to go live there. we had a good laugh. come on guys life is tragic enough already just laugh!
9/11 was a terrible thing and that's a fact. Still, there must be the courage and the strength to go on and even laugh about things that made us feel sad and angry.

Little thing that may interest you: Apparently they shot all the New York scenes before doing this studio stuff and actually asked the public in NY whether they would be offended if they did this joke and the majority said no, it was brave but carefully done :)

7-11 is a Japanese convenience store that was on the UK high street until B2 took it over in the early 90's.
Most of the convenience stores in the UK's big cities are open 24/7 7 days a week even Xmas day....

LOL I must be spoiled living in London within 5 minutes walk of at least 5 24/7 convenience stores and two 24/7 large supermarkets.
Even my mother in Leeds has a couple of 24/7 shops nearby and my sister in Hull the same, and they are not really even that big cities.
