Maico has produced new bikes for a while, infact they never really stopped. Most years someone has owned the name and was producing bikes. Right now it's Axel Kostler. in 98ish they were in the netherlands, a few years back Axel has the company now. So the owners have not been the original since the 80s, maico has been owned by someone and so there are 2005 maicos even as well as 2008. They only produce like 50 bikes a year

maico is for me a way of life nothing more nothing less. maico 4 ever
I will buy a maico 500 from 86 next week.
