    I wish I could say I was related to the Maisch family. I'm assuming you already know all the information to be had in Super Hunky's "What Killed Maico" article, yes? One of the saddest stories I've ever read!

  • yes, you used to see a praticularly nice 1977 example in Az, didn't you? That 77 Pursang 250 wasn't bad either.

  • maico just started producing new bikes

  • Maico has produced new bikes for a while, infact they never really stopped. Most years someone has owned the name and was producing bikes. Right now it's Axel Kostler. in 98ish they were in the netherlands, a few years back Axel has the company now. So the owners have not been the original since the 80s, maico has been owned by someone and so there are 2005 maicos even as well as 2008. They only produce like 50 bikes a year
