As far as I'm concerned, too little wind noise can be just as undesirable as too much. When people see hair, clothing, trees, and other objects moving outdoors, they expect to hear the normal wind noise (roaring through their own ears) associated with that. To hear unnatural silence instead can be quite disconcerting. Comparing my own ears to other devices in windy conditions, the simple foam windscreen often comes closest to what I actually hear.
its nice to see demos of the mics being used now lets try that again in the dark up a rocky crag in the rain and a 40 knot wind with a Temp of 4 deg C.which is whare i seem to be when i film :0)
When do you ever have that much wind blowing into a microphone, besides being in a hurricane/tornado?
