I've been looking at the Nova delay pedal. It's brillaint !!

In addition to tap tempo, in Dynamic mode you can set the delay tempo with the first few hits on the guitar, which I haven't seen on any other delays.

It really depends what style you play, and what kind of sounds you want to achieve. I can't say im an expert, but if you just want something that will cover all bases, then multi effects is good. Single pedals can really add up fast, and go beyond your 500$ budget. Best bet is to check out sites with pedal reviews for multi effects since i'm not familiar with all the different ones out there.

sure thing, i forget the speed, cus its just tapped in..but i was using the 2 head 'tape echo' on my dd-20, with a little added overdrive. I think the Effect level on the delay was around 3 o'clock, and the feedback was set maybe a little shy of 12 o'clock:P Hope that helps.
