yes. i have a remington 700 sps varmint in .308. out of the box, my friend and i were able to achieve about 1/4-1/2 inch groups. i would get either a varmint, police, or sps tactical model. another great rifle is the m1a from springfield armory, but its going to be $1000 more than my sps varmint. overall, great rifles tho.

308 is a respectable cartridge compared to such as 7.62x39 (AK, SKS) or .223 or 5.56NATO (AR15, M16), it is not as stout as 30-06 or such, but a good round out to about 500 meters.If you think 22 will punch a hole in a propane cylynder try it some time, 9mm won't punch it either. Everyone should have a clue what they are talking about before they open their mouth.

.308 isnt that big its a deer cartridge, what do u think its goin to do to a pressurized can of flammable gas, a .22 would have done that, but it was a good shot

308 is a respectable cartridge compared to such as 7.62x39 (AK, SKS) or .223 or 5.56NATO (AR15, M16), it is not as stout as 30-06 or such, but a good round out to about 500 meters.If you think 22 will punch a hole in a propane cylynder try it some time, 9mm won't punch it either. Everyone should have a clue what they are talking about before they open their mouth.
