  • C'mon. 430 torque @ 3100 RPM? No way. Not possible. Even the new truck LS 5.3 is 100 lb-ft less than that. Sorry, better check the dyno calibration as it is very optimistic.

  • @jridge56

It helps that it has been bored and stroked and displaces 383 cubic inches ;) Lots of 383's with aftermarket stuff do much better than that, but this was constrained by using the stock block, heads, intake and exhaust.

  • @dcairns61 That changes the whole picture! I stand corrected.

Engine sounded really good I might add.

  • Lots of people are tweaking small blocks to the 400 HP range without much more than Carb, Intake and Cam mods.

I guess the number of things you can do to a small block is virtually unlimited.

There is so much performance related stuff on the market that only the size of your wallet limits what can be done.

  • Stock Heads? are you using the stock steel crank? These are pretty mean numbers for a 327 not bad at all.

  • Nice engine. I had a few 327's. I've blown up all of them. I have 327 damage reports posted on my channel from the last 327 that blew up!

  • That's very cool. Can you tell me what you've done to the engine? What pistons, cam, intake manifold are you running? What CR does it have?

  • Compression ratio 9.5, designed for what passes for Premium gas here in Cali. Pistons are Speed Pro. Roller tipped stamped steel rockers and retrofit hydraulic roller lifters. Cam is a mild one, 218 intake and 224 exhaust at .050 lift. Intake manifold is stock casting # 3844459.

  • I have one of these motors sat aside in my garage to go into my 80 camaro..they were hell on wheels and totally under estimated
