Republicans would like to repeal a law that is already in effect, already has programs beginning, has already sent out checks to seniors and grants to states, BEFORE they have something to REPLACE it with. They'd like NOW to "come up with a plan."
Their $240billion repeal bill is unpaid for, will remove services, will lose jobs, will re-expand the doughnut hole for seniors, will take college students off their parent's plans, will allow insurance to screw people again.
I'm confused. Do Democrats actually want the Republicans to carry through with the budget cuts or not? Maybe they could take up the slack and carry through with the pledge themselves.
The Republicans have to STOP being one issue voters and look at the whole picture. And the Tea Party is a joke. How much did it cost to read the Constitution? How many Republicans actually stayed to the end? Cantor and Boehner certainly didn't.
Clankster-are you high or just stupid? Something GOP like to whitewash (or just lie about): The 109th Congress, starting in 2005, and ending in 2007, was dominated by Republican majorities in the House and Senate. Overlooking the fact that Presidents GW Bush at the time can veto legislation. Stimulus was not a failure but it was enacted by GW. (PS- Democrats didn't START those two wars-one base on lies) Look into Republican corruption and K street lobbyists for a "teachable moment".
Wow, Republicans threw out lies with no substance just to get elected and on the first day already exposed? Wow, never saw that happening (sarcasm).
The dumbest people are the Americans who fell for their BS. The "pledge to America" was a complete joke, it had no substance, no specifics, nothing. It had a bunch of vague lines like "We are going to create jobs and cut spending." Woohoo! Oh wait, HOW & WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO CUT & HOW MUCH & HOW ARE YOU GOING TO CREATE JOBS? Left that stuff out
I see the Democrats are back to the blame game as usual. They had congress from the beginning of 2007 and did NOTHING. Did not end the wars in Iraq or Afganistan by defunding them. Did not try to balance the budget. Stimulus was a complete failure. And the list goes on and on. I see the media has been given its marching orders from the WH to go on the offensive. Great. Obama is going to get a "teachable moment" come 2012.
@OrionPimpdaddy Compared the the jobs that we lost, it has been a failure. And not a failure in that it wasn't needed. A failure in it's implementation. Look at China. They had a stimulus package but forced the banks to lend the money. Their economy is on fire. We gave the money to the banks who just sat on it, no lending. Our economy is still stagnent. Maybe a better way to say it is a failed implementation.

@artdude102 First of all, calling people names like stupid or being high is the last gasps of a failing argument. Secondly, Nancy Pelosi took over as the 60th Speaker of the House on January 4th, 2007. So, the Democrats had control of the House from the beginning of 2007 till the end of 2010. They could have defunded these useless wars anytime and did not. On the stimulus, its failure was in the implementation which was horrible by the Congress. Hope this was a "teachable moment" for you
@clankster0000 "The Pledge to America" was a promise to the people. It is in writing. It was a way to get votes.I don't want to hear all these excuses you want to make. You are as bad as the party you are standing up for. The party knew the conditions, if it wasn't attainable, or there was any questions it could be attained, the "Pledge to America" should have never been made.
@mickd01 Mistake one on your part is thinking I am standing up for any party. I think both Democrats and Republicans are thoroughly corrupt. Secondly, we can start discussing things in "writing" that both sides have done and failed on. What was done was nothing more than a political stunt but both sides are guilty of doing it. Lets keep it real here shall we? Thanks.
@clankster0000 Sure is strange that you seem to think your argument is valid, when ther are several individuals here that disagree with you. That doesn't prove you're wrong though, but telling people that calling someone stupid or high is the last gasp of a failing argument is funny when you delete negative comments on your channel. Another point, you wouldn't be arguing here if you weren't Republican or conservative. Unless you just like wasting time. I've wasted enough time on you. Bye.
@mickd01 LOL!!! First of all, I have not deleted any comments so I have no idea where you got that one. Secondly, I call out BOTH sides when I see it. This just happens to be one time where I am calling out Democrats. Again, calling people names never solves anything and when EITHER side does it they have lost the argument. Hope that helps you out. If you believe you have wasted time, I would suggest you only visit sites that only line up with your agenda. Take care.
Yeah, right. Heard it all before. The CBO has reported that repealing healthcare will actually COST $270 BILLION. They're already backtracking on "transparency". Boner just reported that uh-well-err, "all legislation won't be posted, just some"... As long as they have their healthcare, screw the rest of the "peasants" who are shut out. They (the Repugnigans), after all, are the only ones who are "entitled" to their wealth. There's a place in hell waiting for them.

1. Transparency. They're against making the "secret hold" un-secret.
2. Against changing the filibuster to make the filibusterer accountable.
3. Exempted over $1trillion from their Pay-Go or Cut-Go Rule.
Plus, repealing health care will cost money, and they haven't paid for it. It'll also cost us jobs, and it'll negatively impact tons of people (who they don't much care about).

@clankster0000 I agree with some things you said, but the Stimulus Bill created betweeen 2 and 3 million jobs. Hardly a failure.
