My first JA concert was them opening for Iggy Pop at the Warner Theater in D.C., 1988. In all sincerity, not a whole lot of people cared for them at that gig, but I was already a big fan due to their live album. A few months later, they made a triumphant return to D.C. and PACKED the (old) 9:30 Club and every subsequent time there during their tour stops. I even had a chance to hang out with them backstage after a couple of shows.

Those small, intimate venue shows are my best ever. Great band.

@MeanrBeanr Damn, you are so lucky to have seen them back in their early days. I remember the Old 9:30 Club and those were some goodtimes. The New 930 just doesn't hold up.
