  • Am i the only one that saw the ghost

  • @mattshplace At what times did you see the ghost?

  • @zac613 the entire time

  • Can you please tell me how to find this!! I have been searching all over the internet!

  • This is PERFECTION.

  • I want to see this musical once with an actual organ playing this part. In the Sydney Opera House or something. Or the Albert Hall.

  • I would love to get my hands on the score... could you possibly send it if it's digital?

  • Pretty good performance of it. although to organ itself does need a good tuning. Also Im thinking the organ may have a midi input somewhere since when the 32nd notes kick in both hands are on the seat then. ( Im not complaining because even in the actual show the entire organ part in the overture is a pre-recorded track .... trust me I have that track and I have the score ) But still great performance :)

  • @contranimal Now that I look at it, it DOES look like both of my hands are on the bench during the 32nd notes.

But I can promise you, they are not. I am playing everything by myself in the video. That's just the shadow of my right arm (my left is indeed resting on the bench, though).

Watch my "Conn 720 - Overture to The Phantom of the Opera" video to see a closeup of the keyboard as I play.

  • @contranimal It's the shadow of his right arm on the bench.

  • @contranimal-i didnt know it was pre-recorded as oce i saw it in the front row stalls and could see all the orchestra and saw a man playing the overture on the organ

  • what i would give to be able to play this...

  • Oh what I wouldn't give to be able to play this. You, sir, are so awesome!

  • wish I had one of these at home....

  • @ChaoticPhill lol XD

  • I would love to hear you do an arrangement of the Cony Island Waltz from Love Never Dies. I think it would sound really cool.

  • well played!

  • omg, u call this a practice session, u've got to be kidding. ur too good man, seriously!

  • you don't by any chance have the sheet music, do you?

  • That is so awesome to have access to something like that!! Do organs like this have sustain pedal functionality??

  • Aesooome! :O :D

  • that enourmos organ could not have more life! favorite!

  • WHAT is happening at 0:40?

  • Oh my god, I've ALWAYS wanted to do this.

  • Die Orgel ist ja total verstimmt!

    Aber sehr gute Leistung!!

  • 6 people were killed onstage during the opera.

  • because of youtubes changes i cant click the link the video bar keeps covering it

  • DAMN!!!! YOU ARE AN ORGAN GOD!!! :D Are you sure you're not a descendant of the phantom?? ;D

  • wow complete with foot pedaling and everything. excellent job.

  • sing once again with me, our strange duet,

  • It would look scary... if it wasn't for the bongo drums...

  • I bet this sounded epic in that room. It sounds nice, but it'd be awesome to hear it live.

  • Holy frick man! Nice playing!

  • @ShinyAndTouchable Just about anyone with any kind of pitch perception could tell this organ needs tuned lol !

  • @ShinyAndTouchable And I'm 6'2, 40 inch bisepts, chiseled face... Perfect pitch my arse, a deaf rabbit could tell that's out of tune

  • Comment removed

  • @ShinyAndTouchable DeaF and deaD are two, VERY different things

  • amazing

  • can you post an upload pretty please. just recently I've really gotten into phantom. im currently reading the original novel and a book by susan kay! haha

  • imagine that in church ><

  • @leedonaldt It IS in a church. XD

  • @PolishedMonocle

    He ment during a church!

  • Dude, I have had fantasies of playing this in a dark room and having somebody walk in while I'm looking evil in a black cape and then proceed to laugh "MUAHAHAHAHAHAH." HAHAHAH just like the movies! This is awesome!!!!

  • Nice Job

  • you fucking DOMINATED that overture

  • Still the best version of this on youtube that wasn't pulled from a movie.

  • .........this just made my night. probably tomorrow night too. hell, it probably made my entire week. just.....frickin....AMAZING.

  • MASTER-F***ING-PIECE!!!!!!!

  • oh my gosh that sounds just as bad as when our organ got water damage from a wind storm!

  • Oh my god that baby needs tuning! Nice interpretation, though.

  • Great Master, how much time you spent for dominate this wonderful song?; i'm a piano player (well keyboard but im going to get a piano in some years) and this is my fav song, but i haven't get the sheet music... do you know where i can get it? please... ?

  • Amazing job, congrats

  • Can I rip this video?

  • truely amazing!

  • Is a pipe organ and a church organ the same exact thing?

  • I don't know if its the audio quality but I think that Organ may need a tuning...... at 0:41 the lower register of the great organ is way out of wack. Otherwise decent playing! It would be way better if the organ was cleaned and tuned.

  • all I have to say is... wheres your mask ^^?

  • I wish I could play the organ just to make this one song sound like that! I can play it on the piano, but it isn't the same! I wish...god I want to hear this in person. I'll get my dad to play it! hahaha!!!!

  • All you need is a black cape and a mask and we have our Opera Ghost/Phantom ^_^

  • WOW this is insane! I wish I had one of those to play in a dark room and when anyone would come in I would just stop, look back at them, and start my evil laugh MUAHAHAHAHAHAH MUAHHAHAHAHAHA. Then continue to play LMAO!!!!

  • 1:20 bout there sounds a bit to happy for that part to me? anyone?

  • @Christherpiper i think it's just the sound quality.

  • nothing better than the pipe organ. i play the pipe organ, well im taking lessons. i love it. pipe organ isnt an instrument, a pipe organ is the greatest. nothing will ever beat it!

  • You should send this video to Lloyd Webber's company, the Really Useful Group. I think he'd be flattered to hear you play having spent so long on it.

  • How the hell can someone deslike this?? It's fantastic!!!! Congratulations!! You're veeeeeeeeeeery good!!!

  • CHILLS! :D

  • Oh. My. Gawd. Awesomeness. Bloody sheer awesomeness.

  • OMG!!! i"m having a phan girl moment!!!!!! thisis awsome!!!

  • EXCELENT !!!! bravissimo :D

  • WOW! Sounds amazing! Is it difficult to play an organ...? I've watched people play and it seems kinda crazy, since you have the keys, but also all the pedals on the floor...

  • @BabyCharmander Looks like a lot of multi tasking, definately not easy

  • @MsBerittina

    watch?v=dWsovuyv0jY

This is where I got the sheet music from.

I modified it a little bit so it would play on the organ.

  • @FromTheGang that version sucks. the one you are playing is so much better than the vid that you learned it from

  • Pure genie-ass

  • good

  • You're great at playing this. I'm trying to learn all of it aswell it's a lot of fun.

  • Your school has a pipe organ? Im jealous!

Yeah it does sound out of tune...but still good.

  • sounds amazing

  • can you do Trumpet Voluntary by Jeremiah Clarke?

  • Hello Hans --Love phantom ---best stage play I ever saw --I have a Phantom book --but not this particular version --is this from a book ?

    Love it --great job !!!

  • I want to download the audio for my cell phone

  • Beautiful! Very good!

  • very impressive!

  • cool!

  • Beautiful performance. i want to learn how to play the pipe organ.

  • Very good. I wish you could play this on a quite larger organ. :D

  • Damn thats ominous

  • this is amazing, you did an excellent job :)

  • You're a good player. The organ needs tuned horribly. It's a shame you couldn't have something better to play on.

  • 1:49-2:10 = AMAZING. And I agree with the previous poster who said that the out-of-tune flanks only enhance the eeriness of this song.

  • I really want to hear this on a pipe organ that's in tune, because you play this song amazingly well and it's a shame that the out of tune organ is destroying it.

  • BRAVO!!!! ^^ that was amazing!

  • OMG my life is complete now that i heard this. >_<

  • what is the key of that?b flat?

  • i listen to this everyday =)

  • do you have the score for this??

  • This is real overture, i like it, others organist play 4th part "underground labyrinth", in real overture melody is playing in bass clef (pedals), good job! ;)

  • That song was made for a pipe organ!!!

  • sounds great. how did you learn it? i dont suppose you have the score to it. would be great to get a copy.

  • 4 people died in mysterious hangings in the theater...

  • when i listened this.. something run around me.. i was scared, and then i noticed its the cat

  • Erik Lives!

  • u should make this an MP3. I would definitely download it :o

  • @draesson It's called "playing with one hand", Sherlock. Accordion players are particularly good at it.

If you want an actual view of me playing the keyboards, watch my "Conn 720 - Overture to The Phantom of the Opera" video.

  • @FromTheGang sorry

  • @FromTheGang lol

  • @FromTheGang the shawdowing makes it somewhat look like both arms are down at first glance

  • @FromTheGang plus there is foot pedals for notes

  • @FromTheGang

I'm going to play devil's advocate here for draesson who said "this video must be fake because at 0:40 you aren't touching the dang thing".

I'm not expert in pipe organs and apparently neither is he. I didn't realize that all the low bass work done around 0:40 was controlled by your feet (until I watched the Conn 720 video you referred to), I just thought you were shifting around in your seat.Anyways, awesome video. just wanted to point out that your reply came off rather abrupt.

  • @xRapidDavex By what I see, he's playing with one hand and his feet and leaning back on one hand, using it to support himself so he's got a better angle on the foot pumps/keys. Seeing as my fokes used to have a organ like that, it was far easier to lean back to reach them then is was to lean forward and continue to attempt to play with both hands. :)

  • @draesson plus he's using the pedals on the floor too, smart one.

  • @draesson I don't think you realize that one plays organ with hands AND feet. That's exactly what he's doing at :40. Before you go blabber something useless and tasteless, you should a least know what you're talking about before hand so you don't make a fool of yourself, as you have just done.

  • it sounds amazing

  • @draesson foot petal

  • @draesson He is still playing idiot. If you would look at the movement of his feet and his left shoulder you would find out he is still playing

  • @OmegaGamer04 i know that i was being a troll and i even apologized.

  • @draesson by the way, to go with FromTheGang; On an organ at a church, you will notice many, foot pedals, instead of just three. That is how he is playing that part at :40. The "really" low part he is playing with his feet.

  • @draesson it's called a pipe organ it has pedals which you play with your feet!!!!

  • @draesson Did you know that you can play the organ with only your feet??? There are petals that activate the keys on the actual keybored. So that is why he isent touching the keybored.

  • all i can say is Wow.... it so beautiful!!

  • brilliant!

  • Actually, for a Gothic song like Phantom Overture, it always sounds a little creepier for the organ being slightly out of tune. I've tried to play a song like this one on a organ that was in tune, it made it so powerful sometimes you really couldn't tell the difference in the song and it sounded like the song was too loud. Basically, it added way too much echo.

  • This song was made for the pipe organ.

  • Mwahahaha this old church in this town near me has a working pipe organ, and it's like, always open... So some passer-byers trick-or-treating this Halloween get to hear a surprise from me >:D Lol. All I know is the opening though :/

  • beautiful. amazing. ive been searching around youtube so long and this is it. i wish i had your ability. wonderful job my friend c:

  • you playes that in a church? sounds very good :) i love organmusic :D *evil genius lough*

  • And your playing that with one hand???

  • hot. me likes

  • Bravo! Magnifico! Stupendo!

  • i listen this piece especcially with stormy weather (6)

  • great !!

  • it's not perfect but you did a really good job. Sounds really really cool

  • good god! that is the best played one by a person yet!

  • Maaan, I wish our church had an organ like that.. I'd play it all day. >w<

  • One sentence:

This piece was MADE for this instrument.

  • @browncoatkevin

    It was.

  • @browncoatkevin Rather, the instrument was MADE for this piece.

  • ... That's really cool. Not gonna lie... haha. If I could do that I'd feel so cool. lol. Great job. :)

  • I'm seeing Phantom in Atlanta at the Fox and it has a full pipe organ. I REALLY hope they use!

  • @kicksgirl12 I saw that too! When the overture started, I was almost in tears I was so overwhelmed. SO BEAUTIFUL.

  • Hey where can i find that exact sheet music?

  • damn awesome! no more needs to be said

  • Who got a CHURCH organ in their school? Scary

  • muhahahaha (6)

  • Its beatiful!!

  • Wow! This is Great!

I really like this arrangement! Where did you get the sheet music? Or did you arrange it yourself?

  • Fantastic, Dark, Tragic, Gothic, mere words don't seem to be enough to describe how this sounds, anything would be an injustice

  • anyone know where i can get the pipe organ sheet music for this? not the piano plz

  • Seriously fab! Pity about the tuning though. Great job, nevertheless.

  • AMAZING! I have the sheet music. Havn't got time to study it yet.

  • I had this played for my cat's funeral we had at the local cathedral

  • on of the ranks is really outta tune... lol but its still sounds great

  • @Vaniel19 I've been getting that alot.

    It ain't my fault.

  • @FromTheGang it kinda sounds like it may be a # & 2/3 pipe or something.

  • @GUSftw ACTUALLY, I found it! I even got it on video and have been debating whether or not to post it on here (it's only like 5 seconds long). I don't remember the exact stop (I'm almost positive it IS a 2/3), but I do know it's the lower D on the swell manual.

  • @FromTheGang well, power to the organists!

  • @Vaniel19 lol.. makes it sound more phantom-y

  • @Vaniel19 its probs a 1/3 or 2/3 pipe it not out of tune.

  • I would pay to download this....its that good.

  • Overtones never sound as good on recorded music...

  • ...I turn on the organ effect on my keyboard but it doesn't have quite the same effect.

    EPIC.

  • What key do you play this in?

  • @jg112393 Bb, then it transposes into B.

  • @FromTheGang Bb minor. and B minor

  • huh.. don't your fingers get twisted while playing this thing ? LOL

    Brilliant !!
