@1Deminator His girlfriend at the time, Nancy Argentino, died under mysterious circumstances, and Snuka wasn't charged for the incident, although the case was left open.
Thats like 8 feet. Not 15. Now I love snuka, but people like new jack and vic grimes took 30 and 35 feet dives. Don't get me wrong, new jack admitted snuka was a better wrestler when he was compared. But this is like 8 or 9 feet. Not 15 xD

This match was released on one of the earliest WWE Coliseum Video releases. My friends and I saw this when we were 14 or 15 and were totally marking out when Superfly did that splash onto Muraco. To a fan who is used to the Lucha Libre style, this may lookblike it's old hat. But back in the 80's, nobody had seen a spot done like that before. This is akin to seeing film of Hendrix at Monterey Pop.
@screwdabrewcrew Wasn't there and was only about 5 or 6 when this happened. I started watching when Muraco was feuding with Tito Santana a year or two later. Saw this alot when I was kid though. They replayed it all the time. The whole match is on YouTube to see.
@screwdabrewcrew The match was already over at this point. Just before this, Sunka headbutted Muraco who then fell out the cage door to win and retain the IC belt. Snuka then dragged him back in, beat him up and did the splash.
@jays71276 Ok. Thank you for the explanation. Superfly jumped and then the bell rang so I thought that ended it but now I see the blood on Muraco's head. Were you there live or have you just seen the match?
If only this match could have been on Wrestlemania III...imagine that pop!! It's already one of the biggest in history and then factor in a crowd that's 4X as big!
and it you watch the bottom center portion of the screen, you can catch a glimpse of a guy wearing a red flannel jacket. That, ladies and gentlemen, is none other than Mick Foley.
Can anyone remember an advert/promo commenting on this years ago? Something like "I was there when Jimmy Superfly Snuka jumped off the steel cage", been looking for that ad on youtube for a while!
Funny all the comments about how small the cage was.. I mean u got a guy that big and athletic leaping like a friggen swan at least 12 feet in the air, picture perfect on target... Please.. i dont care when it was done.. that was epic!!!
The best sellers in WWE history R Snuka, Brett Hart, Randy Savage, & Dynamite Kid....These were the guys who made everything look so real!!! They made every move/punch realistic, never undersold/fake or overdone/cartoonish reactions. Randy Orton & Mick Foley R great sellers 2. I would add HBK, but he was notorious 4 no-selling when he wanted 2, & then other times overdoing it with his reactions.
Jimmy Snuka is now teaching his son Deuce at the WWE'S FCW so he can make a comeback as Deusnuka, ha ha ha, and suck like his dad did. Did you see him jump off that 8 foot steel cage? Wow, that was incredible, ha ha ha.
@whoregay Dude why the FUCK do you talk shit over the computer you look like a little Bitch doing that lets go to the streets so i can smash your face in im in Fort myers Fl where the fuck do you stay at pussy? fuck this back in four shit let's settle this in person asshole!! Fucking Punk !!~Allways gotta be pussys on the you tube leaving fucked up comments ~fucking pussy fag!! i'll beat your ass to a bloody pulp !! > : (
WOW, to the old school ways man ROCK on FROM CODE507!
One of the greatest moments to watch as a kid! Well so I was like 7 or something when I watched him to do that move! Just the shock of how High he was in the air.I I jumped off plenty of house before I learned to chill out thanks to jimmy snuka!
what is with people thinking that the superfly is dead? he's not dead!! if he were dead it would be announced on RAW, SMACKDOWN, TNA IMPACT, and the news.
@balthorpayne : Kinda crappy how the commentators didn't seem too over-thrilled about it, though. They could of put a little more emphasis on it, like Styles' "Oh My God!"
Is it just me or does the cage seem low from perspective of where the mat is as opposed to the top of the cage? No doubt, still a really cool moment, but ...
If you look carefully in the crowd at 0.36 slightly off centre to the right, you can see Mick Foley when he was at college, it was this flying body splash that inspired Foley to pursue a career in pro wrestling.
it is, if u read his biography he mentioned that he was very close to the front row, also he mentions in a few interviews that u can see him in the crowd at this match
Is it just me or was this era as good as it got?? I recall going to wrestling events at an arena at this time which seats 13,000 people. The crowd reaction was ridiculous. You could feel the building shake. The main events were so top tier including Andre the Giant vs. Killer Khan or Bob Backlund vs. George the Animal Steele. These shows would literally sell out in less than an hour.
Now its different. I have been to live RAW shows and even a PPV in this same arena. But its just not the same.
Mick Foley was somewhere in that crowd...

TheShootTruth10 7 months ago
@TheShootTruth10 You are referring to THIS match.
Snuka headbutted Muraco, and he fell through the ropes, out of the door, and down the steps to win
Snuka goes outside, throws him back in and does this!
EPIC!
