  • Mick Foley was somewhere in that crowd...

  • Steel cages sucked back then

  • so thats where frog splash came from?

  • Snuka is a murderer and this is overrated.

  • @BSabres87 Murdere?

  • @1Deminator His girlfriend at the time, Nancy Argentino, died under mysterious circumstances, and Snuka wasn't charged for the incident, although the case was left open.

  • @Tubewings Doesnt mean it was him

  • Classic! This even made it on the nightly news in NY-lol.

  • where is mick foley??

  • Only a Fijian would do that hahahaha

  • Thats like 8 feet. Not 15. Now I love snuka, but people like new jack and vic grimes took 30 and 35 feet dives. Don't get me wrong, new jack admitted snuka was a better wrestler when he was compared. But this is like 8 or 9 feet. Not 15 xD

  • @lazycrazybastard LOL OVER-SELL BY GORILLA

  • Look how little the cage is.

  • The single most amazing moment in pro wrestling. Foley off the hell in the cell is #2 to this. This cannot be topped. Broke all the barriers.

  • you can see mick foley in crowd.

  • Snuka put over the Steel Cage Match like no one ever before, or since

He made the Steel Cage seem 30 ft high

  • This changed everything!

  • the greatest move ever in wrestling

  • geez he was such a monster back then

  • this was such a big deal back in the day but look how small that cage is and weve seen much better now

  • what cage match was it when snuka lost because he threw someone out the door of the cage.

  • @TheShootTruth10 You are referring to THIS match.

Snuka headbutted Muraco, and he fell through the ropes, out of the door, and down the steps to win

Snuka goes outside, throws him back in and does this!

    EPIC!

  • This match was released on one of the earliest WWE Coliseum Video releases. My friends and I saw this when we were 14 or 15 and were totally marking out when Superfly did that splash onto Muraco. To a fan who is used to the Lucha Libre style, this may lookblike it's old hat. But back in the 80's, nobody had seen a spot done like that before. This is akin to seeing film of Hendrix at Monterey Pop.

  • damn that is a small cage

  • @screwdabrewcrew Wasn't there and was only about 5 or 6 when this happened. I started watching when Muraco was feuding with Tito Santana a year or two later. Saw this alot when I was kid though. They replayed it all the time. The whole match is on YouTube to see.

  • So a splash off the top of the cage ends the match? Pretty lame.

  • @screwdabrewcrew The match was already over at this point. Just before this, Sunka headbutted Muraco who then fell out the cage door to win and retain the IC belt. Snuka then dragged him back in, beat him up and did the splash.

  • @jays71276 Ok. Thank you for the explanation. Superfly jumped and then the bell rang so I thought that ended it but now I see the blood on Muraco's head. Were you there live or have you just seen the match?

  • @screwdabrewcrew There's a historical importance to this. It was something that was never done before way back then.

  • The most greatest moment in wrestling history. :D

  • man he had a monster body, its such a shame to see how he looks nowadays.

  • THAT WAS FUCKING AWSOME!!!! WONDERFUL MEMORY OF MY YOUTH!!!

  • mick foleys supposed to be in this video somewhere..... its hard to tell since everyone in the crowd looks the same

  • It superfly? Ya he can fly! :D

  • one of the best moment in wrestling history

  • If only this match could have been on Wrestlemania III...imagine that pop!! It's already one of the biggest in history and then factor in a crowd that's 4X as big!

  • and it you watch the bottom center portion of the screen, you can catch a glimpse of a guy wearing a red flannel jacket. That, ladies and gentlemen, is none other than Mick Foley.

  • SUPERFLY RULED THE WORLD!

  • Can anyone remember an advert/promo commenting on this years ago? Something like "I was there when Jimmy Superfly Snuka jumped off the steel cage", been looking for that ad on youtube for a while!

  • @TheRovers1995 I do remember that prom or commercial or whatever you wanna call it but I can't find in on youtube either, but yeah I do remember it

  • Im glad we get to see this in a much better quality. This is one of wrestlings most important moments.

  • superfly

  • the rey mysterio, jeff hardy, evan bourne of the old wwe/f

  • سنوكا قديم

  • it wasnt that cool

  • @026abcd he jumped from the cage for the first time

  • @TheHamashwan and?......

  • @026abcd shut up

  • Funny all the comments about how small the cage was.. I mean u got a guy that big and athletic leaping like a friggen swan at least 12 feet in the air, picture perfect on target... Please.. i dont care when it was done.. that was epic!!!

  • Classic Wrestling Will Never Died as It Live Forever

  • if Muraco rolled out of the way Snuka would be screwed. lol

  • mickie james jumper higher last month on tna impact

  • JUST THINK IF IT WAS HELL IN A CELL MATCH AND SUPERFLY JUMPING FROM THE TOP TO THE ANNOUNCE TABLE LIKE THIS!!

  • AW THE CLASSIC AND I WAS THERE !

    CHUCK

  • Epic dive by Superfly Jimmy Snuka

  • jimmy fly snuka is my favorite wwf wrestler

  • Wow the cages are alot smaller back then

  • This Guy Is One Of The Greatest High Flyers In The History Of Professional Wrestling

  • Is that barbed wire at the time of the cage?

Did Superfly stand barefoot on top of BARBED FUCKING WIRE?!

  • Did the match end there?

  • he was on steroids

  • Isn't this the moment that inspired Mick to become a wrestler?

  • @SinestroCW yup it is

  • @SinestroCW Yes it is and supposedly mick is visible in the video

  • hey, Mick Foley's in the crowd!

  • this was incredable back then but nothing now

  • @brocklesnar97 Do you remember this in WCW? watch?v=Dn2Nywg7Bzw

  • mick foley was there lol

  • Jimmy Snuka is now teaching his son Deuce at the WWE'S FCW so he can make a comeback as Deusnuka, ha ha ha, and suck like his dad did. Did you see him jump off that 8 foot steel cage? Wow, that was incredible, ha ha ha.

  • WOW, to the old school ways man ROCK on FROM CODE507!

One of the greatest moments to watch as a kid! Well so I was like 7 or something when I watched him to do that move! Just the shock of how High he was in the air.I I jumped off plenty of house before I learned to chill out thanks to jimmy snuka!

  • If you look real close you can see a younger mic foley

  • @lastman4u at what point?

  • what is with people thinking that the superfly is dead? he's not dead!! if he were dead it would be announced on RAW, SMACKDOWN, TNA IMPACT, and the news.

  • Back then wrestling was very different, there were less high spots like this so when they happened people literelly went ape shit.

  • the cages werent very big back then now they put you at least double as high

  • that was no 15 feet, but still impressive.

  • Looked like a regular garden fence to me!

  • Great call by Gorilla, Don Muraco gave an awesome promo with Mcmahon before the match

  • One of the greatest moments in Pro Wrestling history. Thanks for sharing. I remember this as if it was yesterday.

  • If it was todays cage, it would be a feat. But it was just mindblowing at the time.

  • @balthorpayne Yup this was like the first hardcore moment in WWF

  • @balthorpayne : Kinda crappy how the commentators didn't seem too over-thrilled about it, though. They could of put a little more emphasis on it, like Styles' "Oh My God!"

  • @balthorpayne : Oh wait they did. My bad.

  • @balthorpayne Seeing as WWE is PG this would be quite rare to see.

  • Is it just me or does the cage seem low from perspective of where the mat is as opposed to the top of the cage? No doubt, still a really cool moment, but ...

  • SUPER FLY!!!!!

  • as a kid this was memorizing looking back it was a small cage but still to this day memorizing

  • I remember watching that! Once a month live on MSG Network we watched WWF live. It was great back then in the 1980's.

  • the still fill arenas but they give away lots of free tickets to make it look full for TV.

  • If you look carefully in the crowd at 0.36 slightly off centre to the right, you can see Mick Foley when he was at college, it was this flying body splash that inspired Foley to pursue a career in pro wrestling.

  • That's not Foley.

  • it is, if u read his biography he mentioned that he was very close to the front row, also he mentions in a few interviews that u can see him in the crowd at this match

  • Is it just me or was this era as good as it got?? I recall going to wrestling events at an arena at this time which seats 13,000 people. The crowd reaction was ridiculous. You could feel the building shake. The main events were so top tier including Andre the Giant vs. Killer Khan or Bob Backlund vs. George the Animal Steele. These shows would literally sell out in less than an hour.

Now its different. I have been to live RAW shows and even a PPV in this same arena. But its just not the same.

  • Not just you.

  • @trancemix99 Andre the Giant wasent a great wrestler tho , he couldent really do much

  • #1: THANK YOU for posting this, properly cropped, in HD

#2: In HD, it really shows what made this spot so great

    These two HATED each other.

Both are busted open, bleeding like animals

You think these guys aren't going to stop until one of them is dead!

    It was 2 real!

    Incredible moment

    October 1983

  • Snuka never died

  • @Charbyno57 He was actually in the 2008 royal rumble.

  • @Charbyno57 i think he means that hurt so bad

  • @Charbyno57 Snuka will never die.

  • @diesel021234 Snuka isn't dead!

  • @diesel021234 yea he was raw like 2 weeks ago.

  • @diesel021234 looooooooool

  • mad
