Once and for all, the unfortunate skier is Tatiana Lebedeva of Russia (same name as famous long and triple jumper). This happened on training before the race in world championship 1996 (Sierra Nevada, Spain). This video was taken by Italian Aldo Martunuzzi and we can see Jeronimo jump. There were actually two FIS officials on the course but we can see only American Harald Schoenhaar who broke his left leg. Lebedeva had badly injured her right leg and had to finish her career after this crash.

nope. I did go to Killington about 10 years ago with some friends, but I took the bar watch instead. I was gonna do it, but I think skiing is something that you have to START as a child. Once you're a thinking adult, going down an icy mountain at break neck speeds loses its appeal. I remember this one well. The guy was lucky - the girl actually made an incredibly quick mid-air reaction and twisted her body avoid him hitting full flush. She still got him with one leg and sent him spinning up in the air like a rad doll. She's a powerful athlete and basically all muscle - if she hit the guy with her body she easily could have killed him.
