Awesome. Need a different daily driver that sucks less petrol and is still zippy. Maybe the Mazda 2 is the go :) Was considering Honda Jazz or Toyota Yaris but they don't feel that good when driving. Seems to scream but the speed doesn't go up...
Man I got mine yesterday, automatic... could you give me an instructive on how to make it launch like that and keep the revs up in order to get it to 100km/h? I've always driven manual so no idea, and I'd really like to get the most out of this hot hatch.
i am thinking about replacing my 94 bmw 316 for a mazda 2. thank you for showing me what the 75 hp version can do. but the difference in price in my country with the 86 hp version is only 400 euros so the choice is made easely:)
the beamer just costs me to much in road tax and not to mention fuel:P
@bloodykiller1 The one in the US/Canada has 100hp and is a 1.5litre petrol. Weighs about 2350lbs.
I drive a Toyota Echo (Yaris) which is similar in spec but this is much nicer looking but performance should be about the same I think. You can always add a supercharger to get another 40-60hp. That would be fun.
Its deffenetli much better than the factory filter. The engine sound is louder, the reving is faster and the throttle respose is better. We talk about +1-2 Hp but the feel is much more.
@rodrigofaalves i've go a k&n filter too..But i have a honda civic 1.4l 90hp...I can reassure you that it's way better with k&n filter!!! Much better sound, not affectin the consumption too much and a bit changed performance (i noticed it at the end of my gears 1st gear from 52km/h->57km/h and 2nd gear from 91km/h to 98 km/h) it's not a huge difference but you will love the sound!!! I have seen it also on a 2010 yaris 1,3l 103 hp and it has a lot better sound :D
it's the 1.3 for sure. Mine accelerates a little faster since I have a BMC intake and a sport muffler at the back. And harder H&R springs. I'll try to post a video response on saturday...
by the way this jumps from 0-40 in about 2 seconds, i think there is something dodgy going on. i also own one of these and there is no way it will do 60mph in first gear! something is not true here!
is this automatic or manual?

If you dont push it its better, because the engine breaths better, 5.5-6l/100km, but you will push it because its sounds better

The gear ratios seems to be really long, shorter ratios and a lightweight flywheel would see this thing cracking up some pace ;)

this is sick for a small engine my 2.0 galant reach 100kph at 4000rpm on the 3rd gear. lol

Wont get much more wheelspin with that considering traction control kicks in with any amount of wheelspin LOL

Did you do it in 2nd gear? I saw a Fifth Gear test of 0-100km/h and it was done in 2nd gear.

10.5 seconds to 62mph/100km/h. Won't be winning any stop light races unless someone in a Yugo challenged you.
All kidding aside, I'm thinking of getting this or the Ford Fiesta.

what do u think of the car ?? ... do u recommend buying it ?

Wow, a 75hp car reaching 100Km/h at almost 11 secs. is really neat.
Did you really feel any big difference after applying the filter?
I've got the 86hp version and I'm considering buying a filter if it justifies the effort.

Hey I'm thinking of getting the same thing, how much did you pay for it?
What else have you done to your car??
MazdaMike88 1 year ago
95Eur was the filter and 15Eur the cleaning set. The sound and teh throttle response is much better. No other modification was done on the engine.

its an 1.3
1.5 has shorter final gear ratio and second gear tops at ~95kmh with gps
