Lots of great Aussie rock during this era. The Sports were definitely up there. Love Suspicious minds, don't throw stones, strangers on a train and this one.
I remember The Sports but didn't really get it until much later. Great guitarists in this band. Sure they didn't pull the big rock moves, but they had it happening in terms of rhythm and space. Oh, and ya gotta love Freddy on the drums.... Go Freddy!!!!! :)
They don't come any better than this. Great Aussie rock the way it's meant to be. Funny that when I first heard this song, I thought it was Aussie Crawl!
To those musos who might at times feel , insignifant, or undervalued, I have to tell you Stephen, Andrew, Freddy, Martin ..you got us up and rocking as teenagers! I think we broke the house record at the San Miguel Inn, Sydney at the time when Sydney had a vibrant rock scene. Loved every second of it! You made a difference...who gives a fuck if you didn't become INXS ..you gave us the good times ;-)
maybe their 2nd or 3rd best song.. probably one of their bigger hits too.. GREAT guitar riff/solo in the middle around 1:40.. not sure if on the Spanish guitar tho..
I've only had the 'Dont Throw Stones' Lp since the 80's and Love it 2 pieces, but this has given me a wake up call. How did it go wrong? a Brit in Oz in 1981.
Holy mackeral! Officially the worst dressed muso's in Christendom. Lead vocals-Christopher Skase? Even got old mate dressed like the blue wiggle's old man.
Okay, I love the Sports. For their honor, I am going to call you a prick. However, I gotta hand it to you. The Christopher Skase remark is still making me laugh right now as I'm typing this. So thanks!
Isn't that Skyhooks' drummer?

There's two kids wearing yellow shirts. I assume you're the one in the shorts?
It's great to hear from one of the kids in the video. If possible, are you able to recall the day this was shot?
