I think that Larry Hart's sensibilities are considered violent enough in today's society. Hart was content with writing brilliant and loving lyrics, often very telling of his own personal life. "My Romance" is probably my second fave in the Rodgers and Hart catalogue. "He was too good to me" comes in first always!
Nobody's performance of this song--instrumentally or vocal--comes up to or exceeds Etta Jones'! Etta Jones version was on YouTube; but do to some difficulty, it was removed. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bernadette Peters is a very versatile actress - a hilarious comedienne and of course, a wonderful balladeer with a low profile approach that is both touching and effective.

then when she says "Marvin and I have pulled a number out of the book" before my romance makes it sound like only the last two were encores.
