Roman, someone recently asked me where they could get a recording of Liturgy in either English or Ukrainian. I think this is the only English non-samojilka arrangement I've ever heard. I'm not sure if she's looking for something this heavily choral (i.e. couldn't possibly sing along) or if she wants something more familiar, but if I would send her 'your way', how could she purchase your recordings without having to go through itunes or online in any way, just in case? Thanks! CIX!
I'm unimpressed by the Otche Nash both because of its style and also the fact that such a setting removes one of the points where the people take part with full voice.. The rest is truly sublime. I particularly like the Cherubic hymn, which indeed captures the significanceof what is happening at the transfer of the gifts. The "We sing of you" is unfortunately too short but very beautiful nonetheless.
How do I purchase the music for this liturgy? It's beautiful.
