@looker768 LOL I just saw him on PBS this morning and decided to look him up and was hoping also he'd be topless in this video. :) No doubt, he is cute!
Thanks for posting this! I've a question about the "knocking on the Door of Live" technique, though. Should my arms be totally relaxed as I do this, or should I gently guide my arms to touch the spot on the lower back? I ask because if I only allow my arms to be moved by the twisting of torso, they tend to "knock" on the buttocks, and not the back. Could my posture be wrong?
i hope you do not take this as a silly question, but may i practice qigong when i have a few beers in me? i do not want to partake in it if it does not bring healthy benefits.
I recommend Dr. Yang Jwing's Ming's The Root of Chinese Qi Gong...he stated that you should not practice qigong within 24 hours (before or after) having sex, sex depletes your chi and sperm, therefore your lower portion is low in energy, pretty basic...it is recommended that you wait 24 hours so the body can regain its normal balance of chi or you could do harm to your body. so in another words just wait a day till your body's back in sync and start your qigong practice again :)
Qi Gong simply helps the flow of energy through your body. Some Qi Gong masters have been able to harness this energy and do some pretty amazing metaphysical things but in general people use it to keep their bodies in balance. Qi Gong is really more a philosophy than a religion, though many people who practice Qi Gong are Taoists.
It is like yoga-- some call it 'chinese yoga', but easier to learn and do. As Yoga has a philosophy behind it, and one can choose whether to keep it as mere physical exercise and rejuvenation, or be more involved with the philosophy, the same is true of qi gong. It is not a religion, but a physical practice with a meditative focus, and has a contemplative daoist philosophy that are the ideas forming the practice.
I saw Lee's video on PBS. What I like about his approach is that he not only explains how to do the exercises, but why we do them and how they work with the body. I just ordered his beginner DVD.
i thought qi gong was jus standing up stright, knees bent kinda with ur arms out like ur hugging a treee.....

i have a question.... when practicing,Qi Gong how long ones must remain with out any sexual activities? (if there`s any truth to this)
joesatva 3 years ago
i've heard 49 days of holding your jing and your essence will begin to start nourishing the rest of your body
