@plyinglemon Actually Salahuddin did just about the same thing during the actual Crusades. He made the Christians pay a ransom for everyone who left. However he also let many families go when they could not afford the ransom. Considering that Richard came back and butchered every Muslim in the city when he took it, I think Salahuddin did a pretty good job.
A true testement of a great warrior: show mercy to the vanquished if they leave peacefully. Were the Middle East to have ONE leader like this, it would be a better place
Kind of sad this isn't actually how it worked out for the Christians in Jerusalem.

@MrKdn003 The way it was taught to me is that the families that couldn't pay ransom were forced to stay in something akin to slavery.
