$7k is nothing for paint man, esp not when you include all the prep work. Maybe on new cars that might be a bit. I only work with old stuff. Big rust repairs and file-finished, showcar quality bodywork can cost a lot more than 25k, and that's still a single colour. Additional if it has complicated masking and several colours, different tints, candies and what not. In my eyes $7k will get you a pretty basic professional metallic paintjob with simple bodywork.

i agree with aggravated4life mask up from primer to polish the solvents in all paints and primers and clears destroys your nervous system. piant like that a few very least permanant lung damage. whats cheaper, a mask or a double lung transplant

Ive worked with painters with a cig in mouth painting its not recommended obvoiusly. Still, clearcoat always used a mask for that.

I know a painter like that. . .he did great work, best in show. . . he now walks around with an oxygen tank & no longer paints anything.
