Yes the field is right next to Alum Creek reservoir, but Delaware is not too far. Never got this plane back up the air, the damage was much more extensive than I first thought, broke both main spars at the root of the left wing. Did a short repair to prevent further damage, but not flyable. Sitting in the basement needing major teardown to both wings to fix it. Also would need to bolster landing gear, was not strong enough to taxi on grass without damage. Fun build, but current kits better
WoW!!! Seeing this plane right now takes me back when I built it for the first time & almost took my life. Tried slicing a small piece of balsa covered in a dab of superglue off the nose while holding the plane up when the knife slipped then stabbed me in the wrist cutting the veins almost in half. I bled out quite a bit that night. Was only 13yrs old at the time, still got the model covered in blood at the nose lol, im 27 now... I learned a valuable lesson of patience...

Ouch, much damage?
I had the same on my maiden but no crash, was lucky to get lots of air and it just kept powering up & up.
By the time I worked out what to do I had enough height to sort it out.
I'd say a 3mm more down elevator trim and be ready to feed in right aileron.
That's how I ROG mine.
Keep trying, it's a dream to fly once she's up.
Oh & I've learnt never to try short hops. Always reach for the sky and get us much height as you can.
