  • I was wondering about the hamon... acid etched?

  • @MrFrost227 Unfortunately, the only aspect of this katana I find undesirable is the hamon, which is , I believe, counter-polished on. This is a through-hardened blade so it has no real hamon. I would have preferred that the 'faux hamon' or 'cosmetic hamon' as some call it not be added to a TH blade.

  • @Jeeperrandy Me too. I either want a real hamon or no hamon. Anyway thanks for the reply!

  • Next sword i buy will be the Model: 2207

  • It seems like much sword for the money. Very nice sword and a very good review.

  • Great review Randy, i'm loving the sword.

Why did you use a clawhammer for the mekugi?

If you unscrew the little pin from the brasshammer you have all the tools you need.

  • @Insanesr I like to seat the mekugi well, so after tapping it in with the brass hammer, I give it a couple of light taps with that small claw hammer to seat and center the mekugi.

  • Beautiful Sword, Amazing Review Randy

  • @RyansProductionsINC Thanks. I really wish I could keep it, heheh. I am offering it as first prize in the United Backyard Cutters 2011 Halloween contest.
