he is using simplified cryptography algorythms + the fibonacci sequence + tactile input from himself. so what you get is very organic. eric's words on his art "your looking at the horizon of whats a pattern and whats random" did I get that right eric?
i don't get it.. the sound itself is a Fibonacci sequence? and the visuals are created by the sound oscilloscope and then making it spiral? what would a non-spiraling video look like? (maybe you can point me to another video?)
the sound and image come from an algorithm called Fibonacci Generator (wikipedia). One possibility of the algorithm is to generate the familiar Fibonacci sequence. But that is just one of the ways to use it.
I saw this a few months ago, and I've been wracking my brain trying to understand how you interpret the fibonacci sequence to make such a beautiful sound. I'd love to put together something like this myself, would mind pointing me in the right direction?
I guess so, but I don't understand where the 3D effect comes from. It is subtractive, though. sweeping the resonant HPF causes most of the animation. LPF is interesting too...

Is that some sort of 3d subtractive synthesis?
