I went to a few during the Bush admin, and for the most part, you're right. When they did report on protests it was usually when a few bad apples broke windows or set shit on fire. Then the headline was: "Violent Anti-Bush protesters take to the streets." thereby overshadowing the hundreds of thousands of peaceful protesters that spoke out against that criminal administration.
