Hey, I love Shakespeare! I remember back in February when our drama class performed "The taming of the shrew," and the play was soooooooooooooo much fun to do! I was nominated for best character actress by the drama club! It's funny that they used the term "ACTRESS" when I actually played A MAN named Gabriel (a servant.) So, technically shouldn't they say, "best character ACTOR" even though I'm a woman???
Good for you - congrats! Actually, the term "actor" can be used for both male and female, but typically in awards they award according to *actual* gender (not character gender) - good thing! More chances to win! (And I agree, Shakespeare is the *best*)
I played Bill. Poorly. Very poorly. They cut my singing. And, umm, dancing. I only got the part because I was tall and, rumor has it, was sleeping with the director. But round-about point is....umm, yeah for me.
the 1999 revival is forever the best. this one could need a bit more energy and creativity in terms of stage direction and action...
