@schoolhockeymetal I like it. Not as good as classic albums like Peace Sells but it's a very good metal album. The musicianship is still very high and production superb. We can't expect musos to be as good as they were in their 20s when they were angry and pissed. :-)

@ThrashMetalRiffs that in itself is not entirely true, Megadeth may have had a better career, but Metallica has definitely earned more money and is widely recognized as number 1 within the Big 4. not to say that Megadeth aren't a fucking amazing band. and I am of the opinion that the Metallica has lost its Drive, the gained some of my respect back with Death Magnetic, but lost it all when they released the View.

@FI233touch Re-masters are the original recording just made to sound better with improved noise levels etc. If it were re-recordings that would be different. Studio technology has got much better and a lot of bands are re-mastering original recordings simply to take advantage of this technology and make the album sound better. Surely a better sound can't be a bad thing?

@FI233touch Yes, I think you probably just get used to listening to the originals - even if the re-masters do 'enhance' the sound. Didn't do em any harm at the time they were brought out. @FI233touch I have to agree. Normally remasters aren't that different but Megadeth's are very noticeable. Peace Sells remaster isnt much different but KIMB, SFSGSW and Rust in Peace are ALOT better original. I cant listen to the SFSGSW or Rust in Peace remasters, KIMB is good but i prefer the raw sound of the original. Also, some tracks on Rust in Peace did in fact have re-done vocals, which suck compared to original.
@ThrashMetalRiff I actually enjoyed listening to the remastered versions. It shows you how different a song can sound just through post production, and gives you a glimpse into what they may have done different if they had today's technology..... True, a better sound can't be a bad thing.... Why fix something that isn't broke.
Oh, and they did re-record a few things. I heard Dave say it himself

@mmim4 Yes, I used to think that re-mastering just made the songs sound better but I'm not as convinced now. I think sometimes they are made to just sound louder but in doing so makes the song lose a lot of the original dynamics. So I need to be more careful when selecting CDs.

The fact that you can hear vocals over it does not mean that the riff is less detailed or something... The Holy Wars riff under the vocals is the best riff ever man! @Brutalyeah The predicament is there are TWO world class set of Riffs in Holy Wars. The Riff beneath the vocals is stunning as you suggest. But for me the best Riff is the hammer on, hammer off Riff in the intro just edges it as the best Riff. Check out 'Top 10 Thrash Metal Songs' on my channel - that may make up for this omission :-) You'll see from my videos that I am a very big fan of Dave Mustaine - the man who started Thrash Metal! He even made the Top 10 vocalists vid LOL
@idontknow984 You are never going to get CD quality on YouTube. But I maximise the sound by changing noise levels for every track using a sound editor - I've done that on every vid I've uploaded. This avoids one track being whisper quiet and the next that deafens you. I'm amazed at the difference in sound levels between new and old CDs.
Not what I would have picked. Tornado of souls and holy wars I agree with but the rest are not that good compared to songs like new world order, poison was the cure, rattlehead and crush em.
The only bone I have to pick is that 8 needs to be ranked as the best. The reason for is because not only is it heavy as hell but the amazing rhythm complements an already amazing solo to perfection. Some may not think so at first but that riff and solo overlapping each other in such a perfect way is probably one of the best demonstrations of music theory/composition ever done in a metal song.

@youfreaker I managed to get it down to 30 Riffs (ALL top quality). It was gutting to have to discard 20 Riffs for a Top 10. The main Megadeth forum didn't have too much of a problem with the Top 10 which I was pleased about. Nearly all the Riffs fans say are missing were in the Top 30.

@FI233touch Re-masters are the original recording just made to sound better with improved noise levels etc. If it were re-recordings that would be different. Studio technology has got much better and a lot of bands are re-mastering original recordings simply to take advantage of this technology and make the album sound better. Surely a better sound can't be a bad thing?

@ThrashMetalRiffs im just saying the original sound way more better, especially the vocals and the drums sound much more original in the original versions...well thats just my opinion

@FI233touch Yes, I think you probably just get used to listening to the originals - even if the re-masters do 'enhance' the sound. Didn't do em any harm at the time they were brought out. Everyone is entitled to opinions on my vids good or bad (and there have been plenty of bad) Top 10s always bring out some sort of an opinion LOL Thrash til Death

@FI233touch I have to agree. Normally remasters aren't that different but Megadeth's are very noticeable. Peace Sells remaster isnt much different but KIMB, SFSGSW and Rust in Peace are ALOT better original. I cant listen to the SFSGSW or Rust in Peace remasters, KIMB is good but i prefer the raw sound of the original. Also, some tracks on Rust in Peace did in fact have re-done vocals, which suck compared to original.

@ThrashMetalRiff I actually enjoyed listening to the remastered versions. It shows you how different a song can sound just through post production, and gives you a glimpse into what they may have done different if they had today's technology..... True, a better sound can't be a bad thing.... Why fix something that isn't broke.
Oh, and they did re-record a few things. I heard Dave say it himself

@ThrashMetalRiffs well yes it can in the sense of messing with the original....cant keep track of how the band has progressed... thats why original is better all albums are unique if yo ugo remaster all the classics and they sound modern wtf you know....

@mmim4 Yes, I used to think that re-mastering just made the songs sound better but I'm not as convinced now. I think sometimes they are made to just sound louder but in doing so makes the song lose a lot of the original dynamics. So I need to be more careful when selecting CDs.

LOL WHY DID YOU STOP PLAYING HOLY WARS... The best thrash riff ever made was about to come and you shut it off? The fact that you can hear vocals over it does not mean that the riff is less detailed or something... The Holy Wars riff under the vocals is the best riff ever man! Its where that whole intro is leading to! Its Dave Mustaines masterpiece along with the intro of Good Mourning...Black Friday! What a shame!

@Brutalyeah The predicament is there are TWO world class set of Riffs in Holy Wars. The Riff beneath the vocals is stunning as you suggest. But for me the best Riff is the hammer on, hammer off Riff in the intro just edges it as the best Riff. Check out 'Top 10 Thrash Metal Songs' on my channel - that may make up for this omission :-) You'll see from my videos that I am a very big fan of Dave Mustaine - the man who started Thrash Metal! He even made the Top 10 vocalists vid LOL

@idontknow984 You are never going to get CD quality on YouTube. But I maximise the sound by changing noise levels for every track using a sound editor - I've done that on every vid I've uploaded. This avoids one track being whisper quiet and the next that deafens you. I'm amazed at the difference in sound levels between new and old CDs.

Not what I would have picked. Tornado of souls and holy wars I agree with but the rest are not that good compared to songs like new world order, poison was the cure, rattlehead and crush em.

The only bone I have to pick is that 8 needs to be ranked as the best. The reason for is because not only is it heavy as hell but the amazing rhythm complements an already amazing solo to perfection. Some may not think so at first but that riff and solo overlapping each other in such a perfect way is probably one of the best demonstrations of music theory/composition ever done in a metal song.

I'll never forget the nights when I had to bang my head against the wall while practise this beast of a riff! :-) I like your choice again, many riffs by my 3 favs, Peace sells, So far so good & RiP. 8:21 ...another good one, yeah!!! *shred* :-) 9:30 uaaaaarrrghhhh THAT's HEAVY :-) Unfortunately I wasn't able to made friends with Dave Mustains voice...but that's something else entirely! ^^ BTW: your Metallica & Anthrax-vids are blocked :-/ *grouche* Stupid record industry!

@AlterWagner I checked the vids and nearly a half are blocked in Germany but nowhere else. I understand there are ways round this if you look hard enough :-)
I've had a few strongly worded rants about this.
We are working FOR the record industry not against them.
I am promoting Thrash Metal.
I know from comments on the videos that a lot a thrashers have immediately ordered CDs after listening.

@youfreaker I managed to get it down to 30 Riffs (ALL top quality). It was gutting to have to discard 20 Riffs for a Top 10. The main Megadeth forum didn't have too much of a problem with the Top 10 which I was pleased about. Nearly all the Riffs fans say are missing were in the Top 30.

dislike (N)... mary jane i dont know what the hell is doing here, set world affire is good but not the best, that tornado of souls riff is not the best, wake up dead is to underated, pff well... riffs like the conjuring, rattlehead, ashes in your mouth, countdown to extintion to say something are better over these mentioned
