i really think this is the reason that his performance started to really diminish due to his (lack of ) interest in MMA (anymore). Fedor has become a very spiritual person and trying to reach or sustain the MMA greatness is 2 different objectives and that's where he was defeated, he hasn't been %100 interested or motivated ever since about 3 yrs ago when he fully became like this as one can tell watching his previous fights...

In his last fight, Fedor went limp from the shot from Henderson. It was a fair stoppage by Dean. BUT that does nothing to tarnish The Russian Experiment. He will be one of the greatest fighters ever.
Of Fedor's last 3 fights, I only consider the Hendo fight a loss. He allowed Werdum the triangle choke. (ARGH!!!) Silva was just too big. (Size and strength *IS* a factor no matter how good you are.)

Notice that before UFC (Zuffa) had any rights to Strikeforce all of Fedors fights ended properly. KO or unable to continue. Now Hendo vs Fedor fight was really the first Zuffa had ownership rights. Early stoppage ?? yes . Fedor has been beaten up in the face but continue (Silva), he's been dumped on his head & won (Randleman) & he has been king hit & his legs went jelly however he won by submission (Fujita) You'd think after that any normal ref would know his limitations. This is why people love Fedor. He's incredibly inspirational and humble. He's positive even in defeat. He respects all his opponents. He doesn't need to hype a fight to sell tickets. When people see him, they see themselves. I believe Fedor is greatest of all time. No other fighter has captivated an audience like Fedor. You feel like you're fighting with him. I don't know about you but I can't relate to a fighter who screams and yells and is arrogant.
