blackjackdealer: During the 2004 primaries in South Carolina, the Bush campaign conducted a so-called "push poll" (negative campaign disguised as a poll) during which they asked voters if they were upset that McCain had a "black baby." If I recall correctly, McCain and his wife adopted a little Sri Lankan girl, but Karl Rove and company squeezed all the racist mojo out of the Palmetto State by then.
