  • WMG blows donkeys.

  • i can't believe that they disabled the soundtrack...wmg is a bnch of fckng losers!!!!

  • The spiel used to sell Luckies on radio at the time, 'sinatralll', was delivered at "machine-gun" speed: "L.S./M.F.T.! L.S./M.F.T.! L.S./M.F.T.!! Yes, 'Lucky Strike Means Fine Tobacco'...so round, so firm, so fully packed...so free and easy on the draw..".

  • I will always love L.S.M.F.T. I think when I'm old I will start smoking again I just loved it. You only live once enjoy it...

  • Yes, most of the major tobacco companies (especially R.J. Reynolds) provided free packs and cartons of their best-selling brands to servicemen around the world; this often resulted in shortages of those brands back in the states- Reynolds built an entire radio quiz show around servicemen winning free cartons of Camels, during the war- Bob Hawk's "THANKS TO THE YANKS"...

  • cool little film....and i never thought that cigarettes, at least not one as fine as lucky strike, could ever affect my well-being!

  • what does the lucky strike spot says? so round, so form, so fully packed, and? excuse me, but i'm not english, i can't understand so well, but i love Sinatra!

  • "so round, so firm, so fully packed, so free and easy on the draw." (when they say "on the draw", they mean when you suck or "take a drag" on it.)

  • . . .and during "The War", servicemen and

    servicewomen received cigarettes free! Yikes!

    Am I correct?

  • damn straight! what a great country!!!!!!!!!!

  • I remember an old gag that had two guys in a landing boat about to hit Omaha Beach in 1944 on D Day

1st guy "Here have a smoke"

    2nd guy "No thanks I don't smoke"

1st guy "You will before the day's over"

  • Cool video. I remember those tobacco auctions back in Virginia.I've smoked nothing but Luckies all my life.A few years ago RJ Reynolds bought out Lucky Strike and the taste just went to hell.

  • yup...the tobacco used to smell like chocolate or something

  • Frank was often kidded for being so thin in those days...and, of course, whenever he was caricatured in cartoons, he was drawn VERY thin, so that the microphone hid him....or could suck himself through a long straw {as in Bugs Bunny's "Slick Hare" [1947]}.

  • This was produced in 1943 as a promotional film for American Tobacco's Lucky Strike cigarettes {by Jam Handy}. At the time, Luckies' big radio shows were "YOUR HIT PARADE" [starring FRANK SINATRA!] and "KAY KYSER'S KOLLEGE OF MUSICAL KNOWLEDGE". That's L.A. "Speed" Riggs, one of the "famous tobacco auctioneers" heard on "YOUR HIT PARADE" at the beginning ["Sold to American!"], with Kenny Delmar as announcer/narrator.

  • ls.mft,,i thought we lived in a free country.. why were these ad's banned ? it's ok kay to be gay but not to smoke in publi..am I the only one who see's how wrong things are?

  • The ads weren't banned as far as I know. This ran in theaters they year it came out. Other than that, I'm just putting up old advertising I think is cool, that's all, Dasenuff.

  • someone else's gayness won't hurt you, but other people's smoke in your face will. Cigarette ads are notoriously misleading--the print ads anyway used to tout the "health benefits" of smoking.

  • give me proof that 2nd hand s,ke cuases cancer! there are studies bieng done right now showing that nicotine in cigarettes can curb parkinsons advancement...hows that for health benefits!? hey...if you dont like it or the smoke...change the f'n channel!!!!!!!!

  • the proof you requested--google it: The Health Consequences of Involuntary Exposure to Tobacco Smoke: A Report of the Surgeon General (CDC). The Report was written by 22 national experts. Reviewed by 40 peer reviewers, and 30 independent scientists and by lead scientists within the CDC and the Department of Health and Human Services.

  • screw google! the report does not have proof but was reported by the media as such. and you really shouldnt report with such fervor of the dept of health bieng in on this report, those bozos say abortion doesnt hurt women or babies....think !!!! the report claimed 'maybe's " at best....opinions are like assholes my friend and that particular report was full of them !

  • The surgeon general's report has nothing to do with google--I just mentioned it as a way to search because I figured a direct url would be broken. The report references evidence from many sources (not "maybes"), but I can only direct you to it; I can't make you believe it. However, as you're concerned about children you might want to read up on the effects of secondhand smoke on kids.

  • so...tobacco smoke bothers you? then 'change the damn channel" as you people would usually say! just wait till they start doing reports on how soft drinks ccuase cancer or potato chips or popcorn( remember that one?) everything cuases cancer if you expose yourself to it to much. hell you can die if you keep drinking water ! all this becuase i called a bunch of morally pervers people pervers!

  • I think blowing deadly carcinogens in other people's faces is morally perverse.

  • but you dont think blowing people with ones face is? and in public? smoke in the face is not perverse. it may be at worst rude but NOT perverse!

  • When Frank turned sideways I lost sight of him.

  • or when Frank was directly behind the mic stand - he was completely obscured.
