Yes, I use my right hand to mute the strings. A scoop or high enough action make it possible to play over the 19th fret's position, where there is a very nice harmonic!
I muffle with the heel of my hand--you can see in the very first shot how the strings are pushed into it right at the bridge (which, as I said, is not where I play, but that's where you can see my whole hand!).
I've tried hard to do this, but no cluck so far.
Does the heel of your right hand actually touch and mute the strings? Or does the left hand mute the strings over the frets?
Also, does one need a scoop, or can it be done over a fretted neck? Many thanks.

Thanks, Im fresh on the banjo but learning the Clawhammer. Got to practice! I take it you are muffling on the downstroke of all bottom strings.
