I've read somewhere that car named Vinland Saga was made in Iceland in 1960 by a guy named Haraldur Magnusson, it was actually copy of AC Ace, 19 examples were made and he stopped production due to poor sales. I'm looking for a picture of this car, I hope some of the Iceland people can find and PM me. Thanks :)
well Im no more in Iceland, I lived there for 1 year, and left in summer 08. Rvk is an awesome place to be, thats where I lived, if you check my other vids, they are a few pics of the city. I truly encourage you to go there, I mean, Ive never felt so good than there...
lol...on a nice day in my freind civic we pull up at a red ligth beside a Cobra 427 side pipes rigth in T.O. my freind is into those little imports but have the most respect for the muscle cars.anyway, standing beside that beast i tell him to try these guy...he looks at me like am a mad man! the civic was shaking..almost falling apart beside the reveing monster.the ligth turn green and well....you all know the rest of the story!
I know that the difference between an original and a clone is that the original's body is made out of aluminium and has the old school 427 engine and the clone is made out of carbon fiber and has the modern 427 engine...
You can get replicas in aluminum bodies and have an original 427 built to put in it. The true and only way to determine if it's original or not is to see the factory data plate in the engine bay.
And most replica bodies are fiberglass, not carbon Fiber. You CAN have CF but it's pricey and I don't think it's worth the cost...fiberglass weighs the same and it's easier to fix. You can't patch CF and take it back to normal.
imagine to take your AC Cobra with sideoiler 427 bigblock to the work, as an ordinary worker, and the boss is just driving a beetle or Volvo to the work, hahaha what a weiw :D
that would be SO AWESOME ! Well, I'm a bit in that case^^ : I go to high school in an '81 Mustang, while most of my friends come walking, with a scooter, or the bus... So cool^^ And usually here students drive Opel Corsas and shit like that, they are even expensiver than my Stang (paid 1600$ for it) what a waiste of money haha
Well, if i would restore a car like this, may it be whatever car, a Mustang, Camaro, Cadillac e.t.c, i would definitly take it to the work and other places and show the car, and a Cobra would definitly be something i would take to the work^^
Awesome car, nice paint And sound, yeah great car!
If i were about to build one, the smallest engine required is 428, no ''weaker'' engine allowed^^, if possible to get one, it's sideoiler i would use, so awesome engine + sidepipes = great sound =)
Yes those wheels are hallibrand style replicas just like the car. I would say that it is a Factory Five Racing replica with a Ford 5.0 Mustang engine. I have looked at and studied all the replica cars since I had been looking for my self. This is still a great shot of a good looking rep from the 60's era
I'm ready to believe you, but sorry I want a proof ! they told me it was a 66 Cobra 427 and I saw the engine, it IS a 427 ! My camera is bad so for the sound it's not that good... But I have to admit that the starter's noise surprised me... Well if you can proof what you say, I'll edit my explanations, only tossers don't change their minds :-)
It's just too high-pitched for a 427, unless he's got some really weird exhaust. It's possible it's your camera, but I doubt it. It sounds more like a small block, and yes people like Roush do make a small block 427. A real 427 Cobra shakes your insides like you wouldn't believe, and you don't need to rev it up. Just the super deep, loping idle makes people freak out.
As for the car itself, it distinctly has standard lug nuts in the front wheel. The originals have knock offs, no lug nuts.
I agree, a real 427 idles at around 500rpm, you keep expecting it to stall and it sounds like a deep growly thunder. Gets you deep in the gut. This is not right.
Well i'll definitly take any good clone/replica over a crap-builded one with rust and alot of problems, incorrect parts e.t.c that makes it look very cheap.
Rather a wellbuilded clone, than a bad clone, any day^^

nobody would put those tires on an original.

Sorry, but it's not a genuine Shelby... nor is it a 427 engine. I own a real CSX and it is easy to tell the difference in body and engine sound.

You guys are right near as I can tell. Check out my video of what the low pitch sound is all about!

Easy to spot a replica. Number 1 the wheels aren't original and no original car owner would disgrace their car with those rims.
2 the car sits to high.
3 the original guardsmen blue color scheme was normally occompanied by black or white sidepipes. Chrome was rarely used on a race ready cobra.
3 the tilt of the windshield is to drastic.
4 the exhaust vents on the side are a different color then the car. Originals were matching color since they were not a seperate piece.

WOW Oo lots of details, thanks a LOT for those precisions ! I'll modify the title, then. Thanks again !

what is the diffirence between a replica and a clone build overall?

I believe there is none, but I'm really not sure... Let's wait for a specialist^^

Even if it would NOT be a Replica (which is) the one who puts on those rims should be send to prison! :-)

those rims are Hallibrand rims, and I really would like to know why it should be a replica ;-)
