First, stop thinking of your purchases in terms of dollars, euros, etc. Think of them in hours of labour/time. How many hours do you have to work for a fast food meal? Minimum wage probably 1-1.5 hours. Is it worth it?

It's also cheaper to buy from local mom&pop's stores. Think how far you have to drive to go to the mega marts? How much are you actually saving?
