There is no one in Fat's class. I come from this era and always loved his music. I got see him at Ramstein AB, Germany in 1967 at a huge air show.

On July 9, 1955, Bill Haley and His Comets hit #1 with Rock Around the Clock, signifying the start of the Rock Era. As an atheist, I must say that this is one of my favorite classics due to that it conveys the message so clearly:

We already have all we need, the "heaven" is here on earth. No need to fall for the false promises of an afterlife when we have such a great setup here.

@XXXXLOWRIDERXXXX Don't be so down on Pat. He had a sweet voice. You can't blame people for not immediately taking to music that was new to them. They came around. It just took a little time. Interestingly, both Pat and Fats were around for decades.
